I know you’re more of a WR/QB coach, but can you do some videos on DB stuff as well (like best db lifts, drills, stretches, etc)? Or would most of that be the same as WR (for lifts and stretches)?
@firstdowntraining Жыл бұрын
Honestly as far as lifting goes it would be the same! For stretches I think DBs really want to emphasize anything for their hips

coach what other muscle types are vital or crucial for qb. And are forearms crucial to throw the ball?
@firstdowntraining Жыл бұрын
Forearms can help with grip strength and grip strength definitely helps QBs! So legs, core, upper body mobility and grip

@@firstdowntraining thank you coach your changing my style of play for the better on the field

What about incline dumbbell press on low weight more reps
@firstdowntraining9 ай бұрын
I think that can help- I don’t see the athletic benefit of it for QBs though. That’s what I recommend doing if you absolutely have to do bench
@quadpixelquadpixel Жыл бұрын
Hi coach, should I avoid all chest and shoulder work outs, or just the press work specifically?
@firstdowntraining Жыл бұрын
Just the press work, I think body weight and light upper body work is totally fine to do
@quadpixelquadpixel Жыл бұрын
Thanks Coach, love your stuff, from over here in the UK too

How many sets do u do for all the med ball exercises
@firstdowntraining7 ай бұрын
Would say like 3-5 sets of 3-8 reps

I heard that the half or quarter squats help better than the full squats. What do you think?
@firstdowntraining Жыл бұрын
It can help with explosiveness for sure- I think for QBs getting to parallel or slightly below helps a lot with strength but I think it’s good to do all 3

coach, do u have any tip for grip during the quick game as a qb. Sometime i can’t get a good grip and the ball ends up flying by the time i release.
@firstdowntraining Жыл бұрын
Honestly in quick game you can’t worry about the threads or laces. Just need some kind of grip. I would practice warming up without laces to get comfortable with it.
@scottieglover2916 ай бұрын
I've seen Big Ben practice with a ball without laces

Thanks coach, I came from the lower body video, what kind of resistance bands should I use?
@firstdowntraining Жыл бұрын
Not 100% sure the brand but I would say anything that is medium or light resistance
