Never liked the blood spells myself. I just alternate between Fire Barrage and Lightning Barrage while using Sky Crystal and Clarity. Buffed damage, easily managed elemental imbalance, and infinite focus thanks to clarity, since when you hit something with a multi-hitting spell like the barrage ones, it refills focus faster than you can use it up.

I used a 2H for the first playthrough.. super easy.. stun locking all the bosses.. NG+ and the 2H showed its weakness.. NG+2 and im now going full magic and the game sudden got extremely easy again lol.

Something interesting to know about the Coveted boss if you're having trouble is that when the ghosts move away from the axe and you're close enough to one of the edges of the battlefield, sometimes they will move just outside the boundaries of the battlefield. This can break their pathing, preventing them from attacking you with magic or going for the axe. Unless you get really close to them they won't path back into the battle.

The list overall depends on the class though. Having played an AGI-based Thief build and later tried a STR-based Paladin build, I can say that the game becomes significantly easier and a lot of bosses that I struggled with become easier than others. For example, I actually had more trouble with the Nameless God as my Thief character than the Witch of the lake, while with the Paladin build it got reversed.

the real trick for her is wearing the armor of the queen of smiles. it has super high arcane resistance and kept me from being one shot by any of her attacks

So I just beat this game and I used a dexterity build and the early game was tough, because I couldn't do much damage though dodging was simple, but the flip kick of the single handed dagger does so much damage after you have the excavator. It got really easy towards the end. I've read that Dex builds aren't good on NG+. Most bosses didn't take more than two tries near the end of the game, around the Zigurrat. I'd say the boss I had the most trouble on was surprisingly the untouched inquisitor because he'd randomly have stupid amounts of range. The Kraekan wyrm just didn't want to die and I had to fight a war of attrition, eventually being able to beat him.

In my regular playthrough as a primary mage/secondary greatsword, The Witch of the Lake was a nightmare. She was the only boss who caused me to celebrate upon seeing "Vanquished" on the screen. I remember specifically saying, "Eat shit, you bitch!" Then in NG+, I'm sitting at Lv. 165, wearing the best arcane defense gear, and she essentially one shots me with most of her attacks. Love the rage and frustration after grinding for hours.

kinda crazy how the experience varies so much between builds, majority of bosses you struggled with I 4 shot and never got to see the mechanics properly, and then for some reason jester and fucking smile gave me the most trouble out of any boss

The Witch is a literal meeh against a proper magic-user. I don't quite remember the details, but I can recall me going into the arena and blasting the bitch away with some powerful lightning spell so quick I didn't even understand that the fight was over.

Oooooooooo I've waited for this. Never beat it myself, but these videos are interesting to me. Edit: I used a Magic Build and they are probably the biggest definition of damage since some spells are a concentrated beam of NUKE and are used for speedruns. Of course these spells are rather late in the game, but they are really just heavy damage but you have only so much to give.

Witch of the lake is hard, but I personally had more difficulty with Tree of Men and Nameless God. The third lamb can be difficult as well because of his health and the fact when he gets into his final stages the combos he tosses out leave you with little room to counter.

In NG+ I could not dodge Carsejaw's teleport downward thrust attack for the life of me. Add in the fact that he does it 3 times and he was such a nightmare in NG+ even though in NG I found him so easy.

I've gotten as far as the Witch of the Lake. Considering I'm too lazy to put forth the effort into killing her (because I just keep dying) and I don't really know where else to go, I've given up and haven't played Salt and Sanctuary in months. Edit: After watching this, I went and I killed the Witch of the Lake, and then went on to kill the Unskinned and the Architect. I actually owe you for showing me how lmao. Took a few tries but I did it. Hope my subscription will be good payment for this rather helpful video (which I admittedly didn't think it was that helpful at first).

I didn't get to fight Robin Cran or the Forgotten King in my playthrough but judging by their placement on this list I didn't miss out on too much. Seems like they could've been executed better with Cran being the game's parallel to Artorias and The Forgotten King being a secret boss in the final proper area of the game. (Still Palace is basically just a playable cutscene for buildup). In particular the Forgotten King seemed like a missed opportunity. Considering they're either The Three withered into abominable monsters, or at least imitating them you'd think they would be one of if not the hardest boss in the game. The King could have the ability to buff himself and the others to show his commanding authority, the sorceress could have a wider variety of magical attacks to keep you on your toes and they could all get stronger and unlock new moves for each one you defeat. This would also allow for various strategies based on your build.

But hey, it's a Dark Souls-like, so everyone has a different ranking! Also honestly, shielding is super efficient against certain bosses. I... annihilated Skourzh on my first try eating like 2 freshly baked iron buns because he just couldn't do anything to me. Tower shield with 100 stagger reduction made this incredibly trivial. But yeh, I mean, some bosses are much easier as a fast roller, some others are easier with a good shield!

Advice: If you're ever doing a dagger build, wraitfangs. When in doubt, wraithfangs. When not in doubt, wraithfangs. Wraithfangs, wraithfangs, wraithfangs. Don't bother using any other poison infliucting weapons, wraithfangs are your friend. Especially on the tree of men. Wraithfang that bitch.

Just finished this game. I played a Str build whit heavy armour. 1/3 of the game kureioma 1/3 sissors and 1/3 your weapon. I have a hard time to tell what boss was hardest. Prolly the husk. The witch however melted. Black gratsword fro pitchwoods and some arcane res and she melted. still great list.

The easiest way to beat all bosses is get a great shield called Ashen Effigy. At least I think that was the name. Makes the witch of the lake a cake walk

You should change your armour to make come of these bosses easier, the Kraeken Wyrm is trivial if you find the black smith armour set - keeping an eye on armour, trinket and ring stats are another of many carry overs from Dark Souls. I haven't completed the game but I found most bosses pretty easy, yet still fun. The ones I had problems with were The Tree of Men Hallelujah and the fucking Witch of the Lake. Tree of men took me maybe 3 attempts, that witch I lost count. The witch and the platforming in the pitch woods were the two biggest pains in the ass.

Well, about the Witch of the Lake, yeah, she's hard, prolly the hardest even. Thing is, as I played pretty much all styles, I can tell, she's the easiest with either: any build if you're a member of the Order the Betrayer or magic. Yep, heard me right, magic at that point becomes so destructive, you can literally obliterate the poor witch, delete her from existence and forget her entirely.

The best thing about this list is that you can totally tell he doesn't play with shields because if he did, the list would get scrambled. Probably the best thing about S+S is that different playstyles really do change the game. If you're all dodgy all the time, switch to a sword and boarder, and boom! New skill set, new game.

witch of the lake is pretty beatable as a mage, but you do need to carry a non-arcane melee weapon (no black widow) and fight her like a melee would. spells are not super ideal against her though. i beat her two-handing the fire longsword (forget the name)

2:52 I have to respectfully disagree with your statement about shields. While I myself rarely use shields as well (due to the fact I am clumsy and still have no skill in parrying), with most of my characters using dex-oriented weapons for main hand, flintlock/wand for the other (and enemies like Split-swordmen, Knights, Arroxes or those giant armored brutes are put down by barrage of buckshots or spells) and light armor (so I prefer to dodge for defense as well), shields can be a real lifesavers for bosses with breath attack or spamming missiles. Fire-proof shield (like Phoenix Rondache) can make Kraekan Wyrm or Tree of Men much more managable and even lower that insane difficulty for Disemboweled Husk, lightning-proof shield can make Skourzh much easier and arcane/holy-proof shield works well both for Murdiella Mal and Nameless Gods "Screaming barrage" (althought it will probably wont help as much in case of W(B)itch of the Lake)

It's funny you talk about killing the witch on a mage build must be impossible because I did it recently and it was one of the easiest time I had with her, to my own surprise. She's weak to fire and can be poisoned. So I used a Flame Guardian and Poison gas to keep the damage up if she decides to run around and Flame Barrage destroys her just as much as her rain of death destroys you and you can use it pretty well even if she flies around so you also have a lot more windows to attack her. And that was at about 35 int with a Rowan Crozier tier 4 which is about half decent.

My hardest boss is probably the kraekan wyrm simply because for my first playtrough i was going for a rouge build with dagger and shit and then when i got to him i was dealing no dmg deleted that save and started full strenght Carsejaw's ashes can turn into 3 diffrent weapons and i think all of them are for strenght so he is a must kill if you are running a strenght build My favorite boss is probably either the sodden knight or the false jester I love the knight his lore,looks and boss encounter but i prefer faster bosses so thats probably why i woud put the jester here but he has almost no lore so thats sad Also did you try running a reaper/scythe build they are suprisingly powerfull and my favorite build but be careful when going against the coveted or ronin cran they are both resistant to slash attacks which means better stack up that holly damage Oh and the disemboweled husk on NG+ can oneshot you with his blunder-shotgun yeah NG+ in this game is really hard

I think the Kraken Wyrm is one of the hardest bosses because he is the first DPS check in the game. If you don't have an upgraded weapon, or in your case a dagger, it is going to take FOREVER to beat him.

The backflip move of the dagger deals strike damage. My first playtrough was also as a thief, but i managed to beat the game relying in that move when facing armored enemies. Also, guns deals striking damage and is a good finisher in a dagger combo.

Smith outfit, Impen crest ring, and Phoenix rondache help a ton with that boss until you learn the pattern. Pheonix rondache has 100% fire block and is great if you have enough stamina to block a fire breath.

Yeah I had a much bigger problem with Mal because I took ten times more damage than it looks like you take, I assumed upgrading armor was just for fun like in Dark Souls. The homing soulmass attack would one shot me if I didn't dodge enough of the projectiles.
