Comix Zone is easily one of the most innovative and artful beat-em-ups ever made. It's crazy to me how it's so well known, yet it never seems to get the credit it greatly deserves. Instead, everyone always wants to talk about Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Double Dragon, or even the Rushing Beat series (Rival Turf, Brawl Brothers, Peace Keepers.) Those are all great games, but there are many more great beat-em-ups out there that I wish would get talked about more. This goes without saying, but games certainly don't have to be part of a long running series to be great!

While not a bad game to me I still can't get over how hard it is as a kid I never got passed the second level it just really effects the fun for me I love the graphic music and sound effects all 3 of those things will definitely help you get through how brutal the game is not a bad game but not the greatest thing ever in my opinion.

It's kinda interesting that there's more beat 'em ups on SNES than Genesis it seems, at least going by the lengths of these videos. There's only truly a handful on each system I really care about though.

It was the closest port and an improvement to the arcade original. There was near-no slow down.

@@makkmchammer4247 yes but the game was too "slippery" in its controls. just not tight feeling. awful sound too. so raspy-esque. i did LOVE the fact it was the closest arcade port we ever got on a console. today we can play the actual arcade rom on nintendo switch through the online store download BUT to this day we do not have an actual port other than the sega genesis version!
