They didn't even dedicate a specific cutscene only to create hatred against Makarov so as to hype up the next COD. Shame. ⁠@@Torbjorn_Main Ironically, since he was killed, he is now one of the operators I use the most along with Horangi, Conor, Calisto, Zero and Gus. (I only have the skin they gave in the Soap season 3 pass). And the funny thing is that the same thing happened to me with Stitch (I used the disciple skin with him, and he was the one I used the most in Warzone 1 xD).

Probably considering Makarov got off at the end of this game’s campaign. They weren’t going to kill him off in the third game like they did in the original games because they introduced him in this one, and they’ve done things different in this rebooted timeline. Also, seeing how Makarov is the main antagonist of both MW Series Old and New, they wanna build him up as this Thanos-level threat

for me, its a decent ending, and I've finished the original MW3 Game, the could've made it better yes, but, I liked this one, them being on the hilside was a sad for me, but when all is said and done, them keeping Ghost but still Killing Soap was weird for me. What they could've done better, was give us Soap's POV, and in our final moments Ghost takes his mask off. and we switch to Ghost's POV and we're Chasing Makorov THEN he gets away.
