Hi Charlie, I’m one of your newest subscribers here! I just found you on Instagram and immediately I was drawn to your genuine personality first and then now your incredible home making skills and lovely farm work. I live in America in a farmhouse in Kentucky, so to get a taste of life in the English countryside is so wonderful and gives me the itch to want to visit!! Anyway, I loved the party prep but especially at the end, your teen discussion was a blessing. My oldest (son) is about to be 13 and these honest tips from your son and your experience is valuable. Thank you so much! 💛

Hi Charlie! I just enrolled in your Guide To Christmas Class! I am wife, a mother and grandmother of five and I am hoping to spend my 70’s planting best, cherished memories for generations. I love that your mother’s legacy and your family traditions will be hopping the pond to the Pacific Northwest of America! Please do not let the trolls take away your beautiful spirit.

Lovely as ever Charlie, having negotiated my way through the teen years I can endorse Archie’s advice (I wish I could say that I’d followed it to the letter but it’s hard to think clearly in the moment at times - parenthood is a maze!) Just a small thing but I was very glad to hear you thank Alexa. I’ve just finished a book called Scary Smart about Artificial Intelligence and the main thing we need to know is that we are ‘parenting’ that too - A.I. will become potentially powerful and in these early stages it is learning from us - if we have been kind to A.I. it will be kind to us. When I hear people barking out their orders to Siri, Google or Alexa, I wince! We wouldn’t demand something from someone in a shop or restaurant without thanking them (I’d hope…)

Thank you ❤ so far Arch is very sensible and has great advice. I think manners are so important wether it’s to Alexa or anyone else! Xxx

I noticed the horrid comments on Tiktok, it's unbelievable how cruel people can be. Please try to not let them bother you, they obviously have far too much time on their hands!! Keep smiling xx

Thankfully, we had relatively plain sailing during the teenage years. If they got stroppy etc. I would just say 'can you hear yourself?'. They would go away, think about it and then usually come back and apologise. It seems to have worked. They are both better people than us! Thank you for a lovely long and interesting video. xx

Haha. If you think of it in terms of need - the audience on TikTok Tok are young and have been brought up very differently - rudeness / roughness of manner may indicate your channel is exactly why they need to ‘raise all boats’ particularly for the next generation- because who wouldn’t want to grow up in a homely, caring home where mum knows lots of clever home making ways…I’m working class and have built my career by both academic achievement AND social graces - to get ahead in the world and have a secure future good manners and knowledge are essential!

You are fantastic!! I have been wanting an Aga for years now and decided it was time to do some youtube research. I'm cooking this morning which i have abandoned for several years (sorry family) to dive full in to being a first time owner of a dreamy Selle Francais, and decided to just let it play...your videos popped up. Kindred spirit indeed. Let the haters go. Life is too short.

Loved the tip on ironing fitted sheets. I'm lazy enough to send my ironing out but sometimes I have to do them myself like here in our small holiday house in France. I usually practically wrap myself up in it trying to do it. I will need to watch it again I think to make sure I know how to do it, then I can stop lugging all our bedding home for the ironing man. Thanks very much.

We love and appreciate you so so much. I can't imagine it would be easy putting yourself out there. I know I gain so much from watching and listening to you. I really enjoyed this video as I have a 12yo and 13yo and it is a very tricky age. On another note, I am really struggling to keep my white sheets white. I use vanish, bleach, laundry liquid and softener and I can only do a cold wash. My hot water tap isn't connected in our laundry. Thankyou for all you do xx

Thank you Prue, it is a tricky age lots going on for them to navigate! Do you wash them only whites only? I don’t even mix whites with light colours xxx

Sorry about your tiktok trolls. I was on the internet when it first started when I was in the MOD, they were very few of us on it (mainly us IT geeks), but even then there were trolls and the odd part was that because so few of us were on it we all knew who they were. I am really here for the cooking, because I had cooking thrust upon me I had to learn quickly, so I follow a lot of channels that give me ideas.

Dear Charlie, Don’t worry about the nay sayers on tiktok. Just think how unhappy their lives must be for them to send negative, hurtful comments. If you are happy, its impossible to send nasty comments to anyone else. Just be grateful you’re not in their shoes and know you are loved.

I love your posts. It would be awesome if your kitchen scale was listed in your favorites. I’m in USA and not sure how to purchase the scale.
Here is the link to them Christy, they are from a small company

@@ask.charlie ~that is a great relief. Do you warn the neighbours? Would you have any tips or do you think it's just luck - Have you ever had an animal concerned about fireworks. I have a friend whose animals are very affected. We are fortunate our dogs are ok, but we live in an area where fireworks can be random, birthdays, end of term/holidays, 4th July, and the usual Fireworks day and Christmas New Years - and it can be challenging.
