The SNES Donut Plains 1 time is so good for 2005. Kind of interesting how the mini turbo mechanic was dumbed down later on in the series after complaints (when the staff themselves were basically doing it here).

I think that’s for the better to be honest. Been replaying MK DS recently, and Snaking is fun…but inconsistent. And I feel like the new system is more fair for everyone to get into.

agreed, i mean they're even using the dry bomber which had WR until like 7 months ago (idk im not too up to date rn) but i remember when i was kid this ghost being probably the hardest to beat

That Donut Plains 1 ghost is what made me as a kid go "hold on the mini-turbos on the Dry Bomber are so good what the heck" and then I immediately started using that kart exclusively lol

The donut planes 1 ghost was so fun to beat. Most of these staff ghosts were extremely easy though. Some of them I beat before I even unlocked them

I think these were recorded at many different times in development; the GCN Luigi Circuit and SNES Choco Island 1 ghosts have the same name on them, despite the the former holding down when MTing and the latter holding up, and there seems to be a significant skill gap between the Mario Circuit and GBA Luigi Circuit ghosts even though they also have the same name.

Yeah he seems like it would be tough to beat for a medium skill player because it's hard to snake on that track without PRB, and the ghost only makes two real mistakes (not getting the perfect start boost, and failing their attempt to hop over a bump on L3 after succeeding on L1 and 2)

So it likely belongs to Yusuke Shibata, who is credited with in UI Programming. This is his only ghost in this game, and he is not on the staff list in future games AFAIK

I’m remember the staff ghost MT in the off road on snes donut plane 1 back in 2005. I started to practice mt on straight away and the off road in 2006 in time before KZbin excised and got really good in 2010-2011 but now I’m a bit out of practice.

Hey Chwarles great video, i needed that to beat some staff ghosts haha ^^ I also had a question concerning Wiimmfi because u play it alot So my question was that i cannot access Wiimmfi, i have a no security router, i tried using primary DNS 164.132.44.106 and secondary DNS 8.8.8.8 on melonDS and it works fine, but with a original DS it doesnt works (i get error 52000 and sometimes 52100) i think i could fix it by erasing Nintendo WFC config but sadly i never connected to it so it doesnt works If you could help me by turning the button red that would help me :)

I remember grinding so hard to beat all of them by at least 30 seconds. The first one was so easy though, I beat it by so much more lol. Good times.

@@philippfrogel9355 Hmm, most I can't remember but I think with that one I used Yoshi's egg Kart. Again I can't remember fully but most of the time I usually used the egg kart, dry bones' tank, R.O.B's first kart, or Bowser's plane kart. Lots and lots of snaking and restarting to get the perfect run too. I can't say it wasn't hard but it definitely made me feel good about myself lol.

In order to unlock the staff ghost and race against it your personal best has to be quite close to the staff time.
