There’s something really funny about Starscream, of all people, having the deepest voice among the decepticons while also being the most vicious and blood thirsty by a WIDE margin. This must be the Starscream all other Starscreams imagine themselves as.

I think this voice direction is extremely interesting. He sounds extremely intimidating and competent. Unlike most iterations, he commands respect and seems truly ruthless and mighty. But if you listen close, he’s really not that much different than the Starscream we’re familiar with. The intensity of his voice seems forced and manufactured to incite the most fear in his subordinates. He’s still overcompensating. As opposed to most versions where you can clearly hear the cowardly delivery of his words, here he delivers them with a lot of aggression. Meaning that now we need to actively listen to what he’s saying and how he says it. He’s still a coward, he’s just to proud to ever let it be transparent. We’re talking about a great commander with a lot of clout in the Deception ranks because of his ruthless efficiency and exceptional cunning. You don’t get to where he is by being a TOTAL sniveling coward. I think this is a much more realistic representation of how Starscream would actually be to be honest. It’s always more interesting in my opinion when we have a Starscream that actually has the competency to truly overthrow Megatron if given a proper chance.

He’s not cowardly at all he ran up to optimus prime after seeing megatron get destroyed by him in the forest several times he defeated 3 autobots in the first movie unlike megatron and the fallen who sat on the pyramid doing nothing starscream actually participated in the final fight of the second movie. 100% AGREE! This is the most convincing argument I've seen when it comes to this voice. Don't get me wrong, I love his more G1 sounding voice in the movies after, but I think this suits equally well, considering the whole point of the Bay films was to be Transformers for a new generation. It's the same for Megatron too, for me at least, I think Hugo Weaving would've made for a great replacement; essentially on par with Frank Welker. Again, I love and respect the classic voice actors, but this would've been an interesting path the films could've taken with respect to these characters.

@@Barricade24 this voice gives a totally meaning to the character. It makes him different of the gross and untrustworthy 2nd in command of the 2nd and 3rd movies, and makes him look an ambitious general, second in command who wants to take leadership of everything. It's Starscream in steroids

I remember being angry it wasn’t the same voice as the first game (Daniel Ross) I always hated his deep voice here, while Daniel went right in between deep and high pitched for Starscream then added the maniacal genius accent with it. Charlie Adler is good in the films and has good lines here but this was never Starscream for me, but I guess it fit the new designs since everyone that had a high pitched voice or modifiers in the old days now had deep voices with no details. Fun fact as well, while Charlie doesn’t remember one line or voice (since it changed everytime) he did from any of these, Daniel Ross continues to speak as Starscream for random fans fans that ask
