Murasama can still slap chop as much as it did before Some shortswords are still around, like Elemental Shiv and Galileo Gladius ok the Gamma Heart thing is true

murasama reduced to 3001 is for balancing

Most bosses got nerfed in the update that the murasama was nerfed so it’s basically the same damage to boss health ratio as before.

Calamity really made a massive increase to summoner weapons compared to vanilla. Making summoners more comparable to other classes.

I also love how stuff like rusty beacon and slime puppet staff made the class a lot more active in combat. Now whips fill that role as well, but the choice adds a lot of variety

It would be really cool if the cinders of lament made supreme cataclysm and supreme catastrophe like they are dying the SCal fight and stay by your side just fighting for you instead of against you. They have some of the best sprites in the game imo.

Vanilla Terraria should have "Squirrel staff" for more choices in pre-hardmode and add for a smoother progression

I recently started playing the calamity mod I decided to play without using the weekend as if it were a new game experience I want to go and completely blind only using mods, I installed the game to help me do things, unless it was absolutely necessary (cough, cough, where my hard mode ores). it’s addicting I have over 120 hours in the world that I made about 2 weeks ago, and I have blitz through most of pre-hard mode, and I slow down a lot in hard mode But here’s my problem is summoner class is absolutely busted in this game as it is in the base game but the way they handled summoning weapons is not enjoyable or fun it’s a very big modern. This is just a minor nitpick, but a lot of them are too slow There are some very important characteristics when making a similar weapon. Mobility Gaurd Aggression Speed Attack pattern And I rate these 1-5 Regards to speed the sanguine staff and TaraPrisma have the best body hugging so they’re really good for defending yourself and tight crevices and more importantly, they’re extremely quick However, both of them are slower than Xeon staff which is extremely aggressive, being able to kill enemies, offscreen making it very close in power to the sanguine staff, at moderately open area. Both of them also do pass through walls quite well, so they have great mobility But the (Daedalus golem staff) is fucking terrible…… in terms of mobility but I love it anyway because it absolutely shreds bosses if they can’t get off the ground It will fuck shit up if it can’t fly don’t sleep on it, but it has terrible mobility, very terrible speed, and they get compensated by its damage being out the ass and it being very accessible early in the game’s hard mode but I’m noticing a lot of summoner weapons have terribly slow AI like the (butterfly resurrection can’t keep up with me when I’m moving at 40 mph and that’s really bad and it doesn’t do a lot of damage and it can’t chase fast boss is like duke, fish, Ron, or empress of light, which is something the and sanguine and Xeno staff do. the eye of the night, having a really slow attack pattern makes it really uncomfortable as a pre-hard mode staff the imp staff is better It does more damage and it fires a fast projectile. Their aggression is higher and what they don’t permeate through walls as well. They don’t need to because they finally range projectile. They will almost certainly hit their target in for pre-hard mode is very good. It has a great pacing similar situation with the hornet staff, but the eye of the night is just so damn slow when it comes to attacking Also, whether or not a staff sticks to a target after hitting, it is important as well, which is why the Taraprisma is so good and much better than others, because it continues to tag targets after it’s released it doesn’t return to mee until whatever it’s attack is dead But a lot of the pre-hard mode staffs are quite bad the (scab ripper )for example, has really bad Agro range and it’s damages. Quite poor The (corrolsime staff) can’t seem to get anything that’s remotely above six blocks in the air and it can’t go through walls this is terrible (Necro staff) is basically the pre-hard mode Daedalus staff enough said 9 out of 10 (Entropy’s vigil ) is reasonably good, but only because of the brimstone flames of this allows me to use other weapons like the morning star, or some of the wipes from the unofficial whips to make the summons better, but still it doesn’t help that most of its damage comes from attacking a target once and then leaving for like five years (Herring staff) good damage good speed but these bastards absolutely struggle to go through walls barely usable in caves, which is where I spend most of my time anyway it makes it not functional although it’s not the worst one I’ve used it’s just kind of mediocre you could say that about the light of the summons in calamity or vanilla (Tundra flame blossom staff) this stuff is lukewarm at best, horrible attack speed the fact that they orbit you makes it unusable in caves why can’t they be closer to the body? Oh, so you can only summon three of them this shit is terrible. I don’t care if it applies to status affects you look at this and tell me you would use it in any situation outside of the early hard mode Bossfight. (Flesh of infidelity)😤🙏 *inhale* Get this dirty piece of shit off my screen. This shit has horrible traffic horrible damage overtime applies nobody rebuffs the (stormsjaw) and (brittle star) staff are both infinitely better when I say this thing has horrible range horrible targeting horrible tracking. I made it. This is the worst staff in pre-hard mode that I’ve ever encountered relative to its point in the game. This shit is garbage don’t use it it’s not fast it’s damage is abhorrent The perforator is a great Bossfight, but most of its drops are absolute ass. I thought this thing multiple times and try to get it to work. This is just not it don’t use this. Even though calamity, kind of dude about as good as vanilla did in terms of summons in staff, they did an excellent job with making centuries significantly better and more viable in their attack patterns and how often they work overall, I think there’s some improvements that can be made. They did the right thing with staffs feels like vanilla I though quite a few of them could’ve been better and it should not be that the vanilla staffs are still better than the modded staffs I hope in the future I will encounter vastly superior, summoning weapons to the sanguine staff as I leave hard mode and go into divine mode or something whatever is after moon lord, I’m Gonna call it divine mode because you’re just straight up fighting gods cosmic beasts after moonLord either way, I give this mod a solid 10/10 from the way I talk it sound like I hated it but they really do love summerors they just don’t have a great ideas when it comes to how to handle staffs.
