So here's my personal ranking from my least to my most favorite. 7 : Little Hope (the first half is pretty boring but it does get a bit better, just a shame than the twist does ruin everything since it gives the vibes than 90% of my choices are completely pointless) (6/10) 6 : The Casting of Frank Stone (i do enjoy the first part of the game when it shows the characters, their personality and their cool interaction between each of them, the cooler easter eggs from DBD are nice welcome, and some of the deaths are completely insane and awesome. But when you get to explore the mill, it just takes too long. And after that, the rest of the game just like i'm just speedrunning due to the lenght of the other chapters. I wished than this game could have been a bit longer and had better performance on launch because it got me killed Madison and Linda, thanks a lot, game.) (6.5/10) 5 : Man of Medan (i think this game is very underrated in my opinion because like you said, it has a HUGE amounts of paths than in any other games thanks to the option to let us kill two characters depending on our actions in the end of act 1 and act 2, and it can lead, potentially, any duos possible for the finale, which is very insane. It really does have a great atmosphere and for the deaths, sure some of them are shared, but they all work so well for the whole main cast. Plus, french pirates, like come on, that so great than in english, the pirates and Fliss does talk french in some points. Although I do admit than some of the characters are bit unlikable sometimes, except for Brad because he's just the most innocent person in the game, and Conrad which is the GOAT to me thanks to Shawn Ashmore's great performance as a funny goofball.) (7/10) 4 : The Devil In Me (I really liked it when it came out, but when i've go through the achievements, i even love it more because there's certain paths does fit perfectly for a traditional horror movie (like the Ultimatum ending or Kate and Mark managing to escape and survive). Plus this game has probably the most insane and brutal deaths scenes in any DPA games. The atmosphere was amazing, the vilain is one the best i ever saw, and the main cast is so great because they're all stereotype from classic horror genre. Although this game does suffer from performance issues but that's rare (talking to a guy who playee all DPA recently on Series X), and the explorations sequence are a good idea, but sometimes, they aren't that necessary, especially the library one with all the backtracking you need to do to get a goddamn key. Besides that, I really loved it.) (8/10) 3 : The Quarry (I'm one of those people who really loved The Quarry. It's not as scary as any DPA or Until Dawn, but it does contain very dark backstory, especially when you find all of the cluse who concerns the Hackett family, which is very tragic. Also, the cast is just amazing, despite than it sucks than, no matter what, Nick and Max will be always infected, which does evaporates them once they turn. Special mention to Dylan Lenivy, the best of the best, performed by an amazing Miles Robbins who did an amazing job acting the clown kid of the group. Again, the deaths scenes, which are, almost all of them, are freaking brutal and insane. I don't think i need to mention some of them, you've probably watched a video showing all of them. I personally do love who the werewolves looks because of how still a bit human they does look and it's really awful to became one of them. On the downside, it does suffers from unnecessary length (you all know what i'm talking about), which especially sucks if you go after all achievements, which are easy enough, but you need to play like 3-4 times. And the fact than you cannot choose the scene you want unlike the DPA and Frank Stone is very annoying. But overall, i really loved it. Heck, on my first game, me and my roomate were so close ro get everyone alive, but my roomate missed a shot and Kaitlyn, another best of the best, didn't make. DAMN IT. 😡) (8.5/10) 2 : House of Ashes (Simply the best DPA game to date, thanks to his setting, great characters (probably the best main cast in any game with Jason and Salim amazing interactions, especially if you always play positive, i want to add Eric because he's also one of my favorite), terrifying vampires, and it has one of the best finales ever. I don't think i need say more to tell who much I love this game. But i would say, the biggest downside to me is simply the stupid plot armor of Nick, Jason and Salim. Thought out the majority of the game, Eric is the only one who can die, and he's easy to get rid of. Even when Rachel can join the death party, he's still easily killible. Heck, Eric has like 15 ways to die, which is more than any other Supermassive character. And no matter what you do throughout the majority of the game, you're gonna have always Nick, Jason and Salim in the final assault because they're just unkillible unlike Eric and Rachel who can die so easily, and that sucks. But at least, after having casualties, you can do the finale with any quad (4 people, i didn't find a correct term to describe it), trio, and duo, which is very cool. Special mention before talking about numero uno, the deaths which are very brutal, especially Eric's finale death which the most brutal one in the entire game.) (9/10) 1 : Until Dawn (That was obvious, this is the best game they made. I had nothing more to say to be honest. And mainly because this comment is getting too long enough.) (10/10)

It has both a scary vibe and action. The characters in this game have distinct personalities, especially Angela. I really like her,she’s an older, Drama bad character, but she’s great at survival. I wish the game had more characters like her, older ones, not just young people. Just my opinion. 🙅 As for House of Ashes, why do I rank it last? For me, it’s not scary at all. The game is mostly about shooting action. Personally, I’m not really into playing as soldiers who have to shoot guns. But I do love the setting it feels like you’ve been transported to a temple inside a pyramid. Still, my issue is that I don’t enjoy playing as a soldier running around shooting. 🎉And finally, Until Dawn is my number one favorite game❤❤❤I really love it-the horror, the survival, and the atmosphere of being in a snowy forest. It’s truly number one for me❤❤🎉🎉

Hello :) I was looking forward to this tier list, and you didn’t disappoint! Huge kudos for talking calmly about each game, focusing on both positives and negatives, and not just rage-baiting about games that might be someone’s favorite :) You’re one of the few KZbinrs who can critique my favorite games without it feeling like a personal attack or something XD My tier list is obviously different, so I want to talk about your points while also discussing my own tier list :) C-Tier (#7): Man of Medan HUGE replayability, pretty good characters and a lot of endings, which are a lot of strong points. However, its story didn’t catch me at all, a lot of choices were too unbalanced and the characters lost a lot of their characterization once they started to replace each other. Plus the ending, no matter which you get, felt very sudden. Still enjoy the game for its replayability though :) B-Tier (#6): The Quarry Very mood-dependent, I often switch it with #5. My favorite cast of any Supermassive game, but some pacing issues (mostly Chapter 7) and a dissatisfying finale and ending. I didn’t like the QTEs and main gimmick very much, but I enjoyed how getting characters infected changed the story - usually ensuring the infected character’s survival, but also making it possible for them to kill someone ese. For me, the characters definitely carry the game :) B-Tier (#5): The Devil in Me Very mood-dependent, I often switch it with #6. Love the characters, the villain and the finales and endings. It also has a lot of pacing issues though, and I really, REALLY didn’t like how a lot of choices were a 50:50 guess between life and death. I did have amazing traps, though. And the backstory we can uncover? So freaking cool! Not to mention, probably some of the best, if not THE best, deaths in the series :) Hard to decide if a game with lower budget and less development time should be higher than a game that suffered from Covid, so I switch them up regularly :) B-Tier (#4): The Casting of Frank Stone This placement is probably recency bias and might change in the future, but for now, it’s here. Love the characters and especially the 2024 timeline, but also the events of the 1980 one. Its choice system was very intriguing for me, the finale and ending were amazing, I loved the QTEs and puzzles and only disliked some unfair choices/deaths and the pacing during some of the 1980 segments. So, we’ll see if and how my opinion will change in the future! A-Tier (#3): Little Hope I know, I know. What’s Little Hope doing so high on this list, even making it to the Top 3? Look, I just LOVED its story (and its twist) to such a huge degree that I became deeply emotionally invested in it. Its themes, its foreshadowing, its heartbreaking conclusion … it’s one of the few games that feels like it was made for me. I also think the characters are underrated, although I do agree that its pacing was too slow at times. But I loved its atmosphere, its demon designs and the unique replayability you could get by paying attention to its many, many details :) HOWEVER, I very much understand why this game is almost everyone’s least favorite, it’s definitely not for everyone! S-Tier (#2): Until Dawn What’s there to say that hasn’t already been said? Freaking amazing story, amazing characters, amazing atmosphere, amazing demons and amazing finale. Not too much branching, but honestly, it didn’t need it because of so many other positive factors. Some pacing issues and the lack of personal backstories were a small issue for me, but considering Until Dawn was the first major game Supermassive released, it’s very easy to forgive the negatives it does have ;) S-Tier (#1): House of Ashes Don’t get me wrong, I think Until Dawn is overall the _better_ game. But when it comes to my personal favorite, while also taking limited budget and development time into account, I think House of Ashes deserves more recognition for being the absolute banger it is. I personally loved all characters, its story and its fast-paced action, its unique choice system and the awesome finale, its atmosphere and its vampires, and I loved all of that so much that I happily accepted its flaws as part of the experience :) I honestly don’t expect a single person to share my list, especially because it’s constantly evolving. But I love how you made your own, rational arguments about your own experiences while respecting each game in its own right :) Please keep it up, I love the way you talk about these games!

The quarry Until dawn but the remake is going to be on top because of the performance. The devil in me Man of medan House of ashes Little Hope I've not played the casting of frank stone yet so I can't rank it but the quarry is my favourite because I love Jacob and Dylan

I think for me, the decisions that I make in my blind playthrough completely shape how much I enjoy the game, more so than the actual quality of said game. For instance in House of Ashes I had Salim shoot Eric which pretty much soured my entire first playthrough. So for me HoA is at the bottom, even if it's not really Supermassive's fault though. Comparatively, the decisions I made in my TCOFS playthrough put it at #1 most enjoyable Supermassive game (note, I wasn't able to play UD blind because it's a PlayStation exclusive). Most notably, I chose not to Sacrifice Sam for Linda at the projector screen. So I got that great Sam scene where he distracts Frank stone. And both him and Madi made it to the campfire (so I also didn't miss out on the 1980s flashbacks). Making this even more intense was the fact that I played on Sacrifice difficulty. So I had to lazer focus in on those skillchecks. So even if it isn't Supermassive's strongest entry at any stretch, that final chapter experience for me was legendary and coupled with the recency bias (which is huge), has me rank it at #1. And even with the lack of action for many chapters, the anticipation that shit is about to go down at any second was enough to carry it forward (at least on my blind playthrough, less so on repeat playthroughs obviously). Edit: I also enjoyed TCOFS more than the Quarry, because for me experience of the final chapter is huge. The Quarry had a great Chapter 9 but felt like it ran out of steam a bit in Chapter 10 (I got the Silas ending in my blind playthrough). My experiences of The Devil In Me and Little Hope (blind playthroughs) are the only SM games which compete. I believe I might end up ranking TDIM higher than TCOFS once my recency bias wears off.

You really got to get a good understanding of dbd's lore to enjoy Frank Stone. As dbd player, i fucking loved the nods and Frank himself. Yeah characters were flat, but personally i really enjoyed the game. Ranking: 1st: Until Dawn 2nd: House of Ashes 3rd: The Quarry 4th: The Casting of Frank Stone 5th: The Devil in Me 6th: Man of Medan 7th: Little Hope Really waiting to see the next game with the aliens

My raking. Just to clarify i like them all, each of them are really enjoylable in different aspects 1. Until dawn 2/3. The devil in me 3/2. The quarry 4. House of ashes 5. Man of medan 6. Little hope 7. The casting of frank stone I think this new game was really good in a lot of aspects (characters, story, amount of decisions, desings, graphics) but the only thing that complete ruin my experience was the ending, there's no good ending, it's just or you die or eternal suffer and i'm no good with that. I wish there was at least just ONE good ending where the 2024 group could avoid going to the entity realm, if that was the case probably it would be in 3rd or 4th place in my tier list.

I liked the Quarry even more than Until Dawn, but those two games are by far the best and S class - there's no debate around that. Putting The Quarry only to A is a joke right? The rest is almost debatable. Imho Frank Stone is a little better than the worst two: Little Hope and Men of Medan. What rly pisses me of is that theres no physical copy of Frank Stone. I HATE THAT. I want it in my shelf among all others ffs.
