i fell in love with this dlc once i see the hamster cage, it shows actual good pet care like u said instead of the teeny tiny cages u often see hamsters get put into and they cant barely move around in those

Agreed - this is honestly the last place I'd expect to see good pet care being promoted but I was very pleasantly surprised lol. Especially when I saw the hamster's cage - I'm a big hamster lover, and their care is often very misrepresented in video games.

🤣 I'm loving all the StePHens! I'm gonna have a house full of them too, except for the Aussie Shepherd whom, because of similar markings, I will name Barkley. Wasn't really bothered about this DLC until I watched your vids, am super excited now, especially for the new houses. DLC comes out on my birthday, so this will be my treat to myself! Yay! Have this DLC on Xbox a year later and it's...okay. But it could use some work. It's obvious that the main attention/focus is on the cats and dogs. Though, there are some pretty common breeds that are missing from the game, such as tuxedo and tabby (if I recall correctly). As for the rest, there really isn't much variety when it comes to the smaller pets. There is only 1 species of rabbit that comes in like 5 or 6 different colors, the same for the other small rodents such as the hamsters, rats and Guinea pigs. There is only 1 species of snake you can pick from despite there being quite a few species that are rather popular in the pet trade. I think there were only like 1 or 2 different types of birds you can get, 1 type of turtle, 1 type of spider, and a handful of fish to pick from. Another glaring issue is the shear size of the enclosures compared to the number of pets you can put in them. Like the turtle set up is massive and could easily house 2 or 3 turtles but you can only get 1 turtle per tank. Same with every other enclosure in the game. Some could easily hold at least 2, maybe 3 pets but you can only get 1 per enclosure meaning you need a lot of space if you want to keep multiple pets of the same type. Even the fish tanks are a bit boring. Almost anyone who has an aquarium of any size has a variety of fish to give the tank more color. But here, you pick 1 fish and it auto-fills the entire tank with 20-30 of that 1 type of fish. If you want a different type of fish, you have to get an entirely new, rather large tank. The interactions with your pets are limited too. You can pick up/pet/play with your cats, dogs, and rabbits...and that's about it. For any other pet, the only thing you can do is simply refill their water or food dishes. You cannot play, pet or interact with them in any way. And in some cases, like with the spiders, I have had my game crash about 50% of the time when feeding them.

"Never mow your pets guys." I am laughing so hard. I am in the 'Why?' camp. It is my coloring book. But... I know even though I don't understand why we now have critters... (Still laughing) I will probably end up with the critters all over the place and not just a copy of my rl cat like I assumed. I would rather have had theme sets or something like that adding furniture and what not instead. But, the silly is just.... well it is nice to get to chuckle when the real world nowadays is so wonky. It may be one of those - I didn't know I wanted this - kind of things.

I'm looking forward to having a dog follow me around on jobs. I'll admit to having felt a bit lonely on jobs in the past. Particularly at night when my panicky brain would start wondering if I had accidentally stepped into a horror game and was about to be murdered. Now I can have a dog to protect me :D

you can't have more then one bird, fish type, turtle, reptial, spider, or rodent in an enclosure. I've been runing into if I have more then one dog or cat, they disappear, also they don't sleep and from what I saw on mine all they do is eat. Hope they fix the problems soon. I also have a yard full of tennis balls after throwing one

This is something they still haven't fixed...at least, not on console. Compared to the animal sizes, their tanks/enclosures are massive and it makes no sense that you are only allowed to have 1 pet per enclosure. You could have 2 or 3 turtles in one tank given how big it is but no...the game only allows 1 turtle per enclosure. As for the fish tanks, you get 1 fish and it fills the tank with like 20-30 of that 1 fish you chose. You can't have an assortment of fish in 1 tank. While the new tanks are nice, you'd be better off using the smaller fish tanks that are in the base game if you want a tank with an assortment of fish.
