Love the Aussie guys from 4WD 24-7 from down under. They brought their trucks over and did the Rubicon Trail and it was epic. Plus they can teach us in the US some things about how important taking care of our trails is as they’ve lost access to many of their off road trails due to people not respecting them. And they’re super funny guys. I think it would be a great to have then here. Sorry this comment is so late as I’m a bit behind due to a health issue but I hope somebody sees it.

Derek would be an Amazing guy for Matt to get to know. He is a heck of a wheel man besides a great mechanic. Derek would be a great guy to have in your phone when you can’t figure something out. He acts dumb, but he is a very smart man. He comes from the corporate world and really understands marketing. That’s how he got over a million subscribers in like 3 years. He can give anyone pointers on KZbin, Merchandising, Mechanics and driving skills. VGG and MORR would work great together. I could see Matt and Derek becoming friends..🇺🇸🦅🏁

Put a tank stand in your yard . Have fuel delivered bulk and fuel your vehicles in your yard at the end of each job . Problem solved for the fuel issue. You will pay less for fuel if you have a bulk supplier that will work with you.

This is honestly such a good idea. Our fleet was constantly having issues with staying filled up because of a mix of not wanting to and issues with fuel cards. As soon as we switched to fuel delivery, all of that went away, and we save time on not having to bother with gas stations!

Millennial Farmer and LetsDig18 both have a Thunder Creek mobile bowser. Zach because his big farm equipment uses fuel at an astonishing rate, and Chris because he nowadays has 330 and 220 excavators, up to three dozers the biggest being a CAT D7, a cats foot roller and a service truck at each project site. He uses hundreds and hundreds of dollars of fuel every day. So yes Matt could get one of those, but he'd never remember to get it filled up so it would always be empty.

2:18 ok I get it, but keep in mind when a tank gets low the fuel sloshes around much more and disturbs/suspends the sediment that was laying harmless at the bottom but now its headed into the filters. Its not a big deal on occasion, but it can be if you routinely wait till the light comes on. It's especially problematic if you operate in very dusty areas, for two reasons.. the vents in your fuel/emissions system will let some dust in, and your local fuel stations have the same problem.

I vote for Steve Wallis. The stealth camping dude from Canada. He lost his wife earlier this year and it just seems like this would be something outside the box for him. He's the most humble guy you'll ever meet but watch out cause he'll try to stealth camp somewhere you least expect it. 😂❤ Update to add: Crazy Neighbor made an appearance in Steve's latest video. He took a nasty fall and broke his femur and pelvis. I don't think he'd be up to a 4x4 run but his unwavering support of Steve would be God send. ❤

Matt avoids getting gas because there's no dopamine hit. Forgetting to eat and fighting sleep are also neurodivergent traits. Oh wow. Finally I know why that one kind of guy is always running out of gas! I used to work with a guy like that. He had me drive his pickup down to get gas once. He had it so perfectly planned out, it ran out exactly as I drove into the station. I only once let one of my vehicles run out of gas. It's an antique Chevy dually (1977) with double tanks. It wasn't in great shape, I didn't drive it for awhile... Oh right, that was when the radiator exploded... I took it to a mechanic because it had a new vibration after I put the new radiator in (it turned out it was the cooling fan. I'm not sure if the cooling fan broke and a flying blade hit the radiator causing it to explode, or if the radiator hit the fan and broke it when it exploded, but the fan was missing a blade. The radiator was easy. I couldn't even _tell_ the fan was messed up.) Anyway the mechanic called me in to do a test run with him and help tell him what I was feeling that was a problem. Right as we were getting done and heading back to the mechanic shop, it quit. It sometimes vapor locks, so I thought it was that at first, but it was weird, because it usually vapor locks going uphill on hot days. It wasn't very hot and I wasn't going uphill. So the mechanic asked me if I was sure the gas gauge was working--it read totally full. I replied, "I know for a fact that it doesn't work at all." I blinked, thought back on how much I'd driven it since the last time I fueled it up. I switched gas tanks. It didn't pick back up. I nodded. "Yup, I'm out of gas." Only time I ever let that happen, and it took all _that._

Matt: Reference your being too bored to get gas I understand it. But as a retired career firefighter we never let a fire apparatus' fuel tank to get below 3/4 of a tank if at all possible. Go to a call, top it off when you get back to the station. You never know if the next call will find us fighting a many hours long major fire. In my private life I never know if I might have to get up in the middle of the night and run a family member to a hospital or make any other emergency run. Not a time to stop at a gas station. It doesn't cost a penny more to keep a tank full than it does to keep it on empty.

Who should be in the driver's seat of an off road vehicle for the games? CEO/COO and/or design engineers from SUV and passenger car manufacturers. Specifically, if you can get them doing a common off road recovery that you encounter often because drivers take them stupid places. Make them do the complete hook ups with no tow/recovery points so common on newer vehicles. Maybe the engineers and builders might learn something.

Matt: Just delegate the gassing up of vehicles to one or more of your staff. Always give the job of gassing up vehicles to another person. Given the amount of gas you use why not get a 1000 gallon tank or even a 3000 or 5000 tank on the property? Then you can buy in bulk, fill up on the property, & you just assign to someone on your team - the job of learning the delivery schedules of those who sell fuel. You'll probably save enough on fuel costs to pay for the tank within 3 years. Also can't you use purple gas on your heavy wrecker & other unlicensed off-road vehicles? Maybe you need 2 fuel tanks. Damn I just wrote all this & I see someone else already posted a similar idea. With your farming background I'm surprised you haven't already done it. Either way a good manager delegates thats that they hate to those that hate them less. That's how business works & we all know you know that. Sticking to old habits just because I like them has held me back from advancing in many areas over the years until I finally decided, in my 60's, to quit doing stupid rituals that take more time - just because I've always done it that way. It's the dumbest behavior on the planet once you begin to stop doing it. For some reason those old habits continue to make more sense than common sense until you just stop & do it differently just because you can & because you actually do have "common sense" if you'll only use it more. Once you begin to do so - you'll become a much more commons sense kind of person instead of becoming a crotchety old miser who is trapped in a changing world that he/she's increasingly threatened by. Think about it - how serious is your problem when you hate getting gas? That's a sign that change is needed. I'm serious. I'm almost 70 & the worst of this stuff happens after 60 & you're probably in your 40's. This is the time to get serious about attacking the habits that make you old. At my age I'm probably in better shape than you. It will set new precedents that will improve & increase your scope of behavior instead of becoming increasingly offended with the changes that turn you into a senior-sulker if you don't quit feeding the offenses with repetitive bad habits. After 50 is the age where you start to become increasingly offended with the loss of the world you grew up in. It creeps up slowly so begin to plan against it today. Discuss it with your wife. Nobody expects you to change you. Nobody change themselves. But you can change behavior & attitude without having to change yourself. That way you keep your identity but you also prevent your identity from leaking into your bad beliefs & habits. Cease validating the old if you want to adjust to the new. You''ll never have the energy to serve both. But don't invalidate the old either. Just make sure the old & the knew both know their place in your future. Hope you find my unsolicited advice useful. I'm definitely qualified to teach this stuff as it's what I've done all my life. That besides having been a 3rd generation building contractor, 2nd generation farmer, 25 year computer engineering full service business, & a coaching & consulting career on behavioral science.

Running on empty is just laziness, not boredom. And you know doing so just runs the risk of burning up your fuel pump. Some may say it increases the likelihood of sediment pick-up too, but that’s less so with modern fuel systems.
