Side note about Refined Storage: It's not that the mod has yet to be updated, it's that 1.21.1 will be the targeted first release of its successor, RS2. There is no confirmed release date as there are still missing features (WIP Autocrafting), but january or february might be possible.

Well I got AE storage as soon as I found a spot for a base... I kinda did everything in wrong order so far xD before getting allthemodium, I already had a proper storage

For unstackables, I cannot more recommend the Armoury Cabinet. It can hold a huge number of them in a single block

You can put a storage bus on a sink and AE will show u unlimited amount of water. I found it useful to not craft sink each time for some processes that require water.

Adding to this; connect a matter condenser to a sink with your pipe of choice (faster is better) and you can create singularity for the quantum bridge fairly quickly.

You don't even need to do p2p anymore, the pack has ae2 additions which gives you a wireless channel block connecting your control to where ever you want.

In terms of drawer systems. Is it still best to just leave the essence in the drawer and just use a storage bus to the controller and set the priority higher to keep them in there to not fill the system?

That would be a better method, yes, drawers are significantly cheaper (timewise) to have many thousands of items in capacity; and with the controller it's made even easier

The only thing I would have changed is to use barrels and trap doors with a more mechanical texture than ordinary wood. But the little generator towers for certus add a nice little background animation.

Yup, this is what I'm doing. Got 8 chargers set up with modular routers and 2 distribution cards. They go through like 10 stacks within a few minutes. I toss em all in water with the extracted dust because at this point efficiency be damned 😂

Chosen, check the recipes for Charged Certus Quartz in JEI, there's an AE machine in there that makes it way faster than the Chargers, I don't remember what it's called but all you really need is an infinite supply of water and some power and it should be good.

Love how AE2 and RS are always one upping each other. Was a huge RS fan....until this video. Honestly block picking and building gadgets linking is enough quality of life to make the channels less annoying(they really aren't hard, just the tedium of addi p2p, go to controller copy one, go back paste it...etc etc, adds a useless step IMO). Hopefully those work with an infinite range thingy? Of course this will last probably until RS2 releases with whatever QOL stuff those madmen are adding now.
