Definitely get the Macan when you're ready to trade the KIA. Watching you discuss Porsche on you channels, now only this one, made me visit my local dealership several times in the last year. Also, I have to say that I find it funny to see the words "Porsche" and "need" in the same sentence. First world problems, right? lol

In reality, the Macan S has been dropped (in terms of vehicle configuration), as the "new" Macan S has the same engine as the 2021 Macan GTS and the "new" Macan GTS has the same engine as the 2021 Macan Turbo. So the options for 2022 and forward for ICE Macans are the 2.0L turbo like you're driving here, and the 2.9L twin turbo. No more 3.0L turbo Macan. This also probably helps differentiate more between the Macan and the Audi SQ5 since the SQ5 also uses the 3.0L turbo.

You are a Porsche enthusiast. You, IMO, would never be happy enough with the GT Macan. There would always be, in the back of your mind, 'well, this GT is nice. But that extra power. The nicer interior.' Or whatever. Get the GTS when finances allow. Be happy!👍👊

Nice vid, get yourself a GTS or older turbo. Brilliant cars. I just learned last month that the reason the Macan behaves so well is, unlike the Audi & VW cousins, they are essentially rear wheel drive whereas the others are front. I assure you the Mac turbo is a completely different animal! Well worth the drive! Also, you'll know from the turbo that leather or alcantara on the dash is the way to go. Makes a huge difference to the inside 👍

if $ is zero issue go for the GTS!! however if you'd put the extra $10/20/30k towards anything else...the base will have all the power you need 95% of the time

My Kia is a 1.6 petrol engine. Fuel economy is not my main concern, well it certainly wouldn’t be a deciding factor.

They drive completely differently. The Macan is 85% rear wheel drive on a dry road.

After watching the full review. Everything that you "said" says stick with the Kia, the difference isn't significant and the price can't justify it. On the other hand, everything not "said" shows emotionally that you're a Porsche guy and the Macan is the car for you. Go with your heart, life is too short 🙂

I live in a place with plenty of premium cars, I mean a bentley on my street is normal, and the drivers of Porsche SUVs, are almost all women. But knowing you are in need of small cars it probably doesn't bother you. Where would you park it? Probably doesn't bother you to have the Kia outside at home or in port. And if you had to get say a large crate, would you mind jamming it in the back of a Macan because I bet you would care less with the Kia. How about throwing some boxes on the back seats? But I would get the S, simply for the lower price than a GTS. It gets you lots more power and over 300hp, and a V6. And that is why you get the longer profile Cayman for a just a little more money until you spec it out.

My model Y has way more room, more versatile, has autopilot for those long drives, and does 0-60 in 3.5. 3 seconds faster! Test drive one for a couple hundred miles (get used to autopilot) and you'll want it on your Italy trips for that alone.
