For my money, one of the best soundtracks in the history of film. Great movie lent to the quality of this music too -- both mysterious and also insistent, it demands attention.

Quite haunting and tense. Fantastic and suspenseful. Not extravagant nor overly dramatic, it punctuates like warm breath on a cold screen what is and remains one of the darkest and most disturbing chapters in US political history. Film was brilliant and showcased two legendary actors at their restrained best. Not over powering but weaving with the story and this excellent soundtrack. Reminds me in some respects of Goodnight and Good luck for its potency and sustain.

Starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman “All The President’s Men”, based on the researches of Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward about the Watergate scandal was an instant hit for audiences and critics worldwide. Together with the thrillers “Klute” (1971) and “The Parallax View” (1974) this movie completes the so called “Paranoia Trilogy” of director Alan J. Pakula, who worked together with composer Michael Small on the two previous projects. On this one David Shire was consulted with providing a very descent and inconspicuous soundtrack, which is based around one simple theme that wanders through almost the entire score. Enjoy!
