I got the Mammut Kento Tour High GTX about 6 months ago. Yet to test them through winter but so far....... they took a good few hikes to properly break in. I used them on the UK Y3P (25 miles) and they were unnoticeable, so perfect. Really grippy, great support and I felt like I could do another 25 miles. However, my laces snapped after 2 months, and now my vibram sole is already starting to wear thin in places.

My boots and laces are still going strong. Did you contact them about the sole?

@MarissaCollison yeah they sent me 2 spare pairs of laces and they have offered to replace the soles as the boots are still under warranty. Just means going 4 weeks without my bright orange boots lol

@@RandomTim84 oh shoot. Yeah I get ya on that. Shipping takes forever here so it would be forever without boots.

I’m shopping for boots before heading off to Wyoming Catholic College, which begins the freshman year with a 21-day backcountry hiking trip. This is awesome, thank you!

Have you also tried their Trovat Tour boots? I am in between either getting them or the Kento Guide but not sure which might be best for me. I hike mostly im damp terrain but also sometimes in the alps (based on Europe) and would like boots that can also handle cold weather

Sadly I haven't. I just hiked in my Kentos today. 4 hour hike in some wet snow. Socks stayed dry even tho I know I need to treat them again. They are still going strong!! It was about mid 30s and sunny. Feet stayed warm. At times I'll get cold toes in extremely cold temps, but honestly I would get cold in any boots. Just have cold feet syndrome.

Hallo , how is the boots after one year using? Are they quality? I am looking for some winter boots for hiking in winter mountain , do you think are they good choice for mé? Are they warm in temperatures about -10*C (14*F)?

Good morning! Sorry it has taken me so long to get back to you. I have put my boots thru all kinds of wet and cold weather in the last year and half since the video! Mostly extremely wet. I do have to condition with a good boot wax, noticed the tongue area started to absorb a little bit. As far as cold temps, I am a constantly cold person and I felt they performed really well!!! Remember so try on with thicker socks that you will be hiking in so it isn't too tight on your toes. They run a bit slimmer than some other brands. Also they are cramp on compatible tho I haven't used them yet. In all, they have been my go to boot for a long time. It's time to test a new boot!!
