I started the Dandelion Dynasty in February of this year and just finished Speaking Bones last month. If it doesn't become a part of the modern fantasy canon, I'm going to be ticked! Haha! I hope you love The Wall of Storms!

I read Perdido Street Station back when it came out, it does some things that may not have aged well and I remember it as being quite dark. Thatr being said I absolutely loved it when I first read it.

Perdido Street Station is also on my tbr until the end of the year (started it a few months ago 😅). Then I also want to read .all 3 short stories collections + novellas from The Sun Eater (if you haven't read Empire of Silence, please do. I think you'll love it 👀) .Inhibitor Phase (to finish Revelation Space series) .The Book of the New Sun .Use of Weapons (I have high hopes, everyone says it's one of the best books in The Culture) Then I'll see if I'm in the mood for more sci-fi or if I'll switch it up to fantasy. 📚

WarBreaker is great :) my tomes for the end of the year will be "The way of kings" and "Words of Radiance", + " A desolation called peace" for sure, but of course I will a few more books :) also, I've read "The Scar" , it is sort of continuation after "Perdito street station", and I liked it, I still randomly think about it. I picked it up because sea adventures, and was not disappointed, and the world is so huge and full of different creatures !

Warbreaker is by far my favorite Sanderson. I actually think this is the quintessential Sanderson. A lot of his other books are just a rehash of this masterpiece.

Love to see more readers love The Dandelion Dynasty. I started the series at the end of last year and devoured the series. Its my favorite fantasy series of all time. If you loved Grace of Kings, you're in for a treat with The Wall of Storms. The entire series is a masterpiece.

Good on you - that is an ambitious list! I started 2023 with Way of Kings and you can't go wrong. Warbreaker is also good. I DNF'd Will of the Many at about 60%, but I just think I wasn't in the mood for an academy story. Thank for all the great recs - I also loved the Light Brigade so excited to try The Mirror Empire. Mask of Mirrors sounds awesome too. At my pace I'm good through 2024 now - lol! 😁

I read Priory when it first came out and remember finding it really slow plot-wise, but I loved Samantha Shannon's writing and the world she created. The one tome on my fall TBR is the Will of the Many. I also have heard so many good things about it!

Ooh! Yes, do not sleep on The Will of the Many. This was my first James Islington, and I’m 98.5% sure it doesn’t have any ties to Licanius, totally different map! It’s a fast ride, so maybe read it as a treat in between your series’ tomes 😊

The Wall of Storms is awesome. I didn't love The Grace of Kings (it didn't start gripping me until about 60% in), but The Wall of Storms is all gas. Haha What a list of chonky tomes! Here's hoping you don't burnout or injure your wrists holding those books. Haha

I just finished the Red Rising series so I will finish the Iron Gold series. I must work in the Orange Tree rec based on the mention of dragons 🐉. Thank you for sharing your expertise.

This is just a (wonderful) detail, but the colours when you were talking about The Priory of the Orange Tree were absolutely gorgeous... the book, your clothes, the picture, the orangey leaves on the shelves? Amazing! That's the only one I have on my shelf, I'm not sure I'll get to it this year, but whenever I do I hope it's great!
