Hi Mike. May 29 and I just watched another video where you were just sharing. You mentioned needing to get a thicker skin because of some critical comments. Please don’t let these people and their comments steal your joy and the fun you bring to your audience. They don’t have to watch you…they just want to hurt and tear down. You have a fun and real channel.. I share a lot of your joy in using old rusty items and creating little rooms. Keep it up and don’t let miserable people stop you from doing what you love! God bless!

Amazing the difference in 7 years of hard work has made. In the other video with the drone, all the others home yards are so bare. Great job. Your garden looks so relaxing.

I am so inspired! I'm in zone 5a in central Maine but we share many things in common: heavy clay soil, water pooling/drainage issues as we too are the low spot in the neighborhood, etc. Last year I got fed up and decided I was done with a swampy plain grass lawn. I dug out a pond basin last summer and built a raised bed/berm like these with the removed clay I then amended. Filled it with perennials and shrubs that still can tolerate dampness from time to time. I love the look of the random cut post borders here - I'm definitely adding these as soon as the ground thaws this spring!

I think I’m going to borrow your old garden hose trick. We don’t throw anything away so I have quite a few old garden hoses that either have the end cut off or something wrong with it making it unusable for it’s intended purpose. I think it’s a great idea. 🌸💚🙃

My husband was a welder, so the moon gate interests him. Great job. We have a forest, so when we had to take down trees, we cut them into various sizes for the landscape, like you did. My granddaughter enjoyed walking on them as a balance beam. Repurpose is the name of the game now, and you've done a mystical job of it. All your plants look luscious and happy.

Mike, I had to laugh when you mentioned that your wife Jessie teases you about you saying ...' that being said' way too often. We all have little phrases that we tend to use a bit too much, lol. (I won't tell you mine.) I absolutely love your use of rust in the garden, plants placed in front of rusty finds just seem to pop! I'm so glad that you are creating videos again because I really missed seeing your beautiful and ever-evolving garden. I hope you are both enjoying this beautiful Memorial Day weekend. ~Margie🤗🪖🎺🗽🙏

Oh man I have a mature garden but I fight with clay soil. I am now thinking about getting a post border in order to contain the additional soil I'm now thinking about doing! All thanks to you. I love your garden. You certainly have an eye for composition and creativity with borders and decor.

I’ve used old tires in the past to plant in, my mistake, snakes like tires. Although I think that they help keep the ground warmer during the winter. One year a canna overwintered in one, this year some glades overwintered in one. I’m in zone 6a so neither of those plants should have survived the winter months. I’ve since removed the tires because I HATE SNAKES, but I’m considering using them again in a different part of the garden and doing a much better job of snake proofing them to do some experimental planting in them, nothing expensive but maybe something thats only hardy to a zone 7 and see what happens. I know tires aren’t very esthetically pleasing but if I can plant something pretty around them to hide their appearance I may be able to grow something in them not hardy to my zone. I live in a very rural area so no one sees them but me so I think next spring I’m going to give it a try. I really like reusing found items but they have to be properly placed otherwise it can look like a junk yard. I love how you’ve used your found items ! 🌸💚🙃

U can also paint the tires different colors. Jason at Fraser Valley Rose Farms on KZbin has several tires that he’s planted in, and if I remember correctly, he painted his tires.

Those ugly wooden boxes covering your neighbours pipes, have you thought of putting a sedum type green roof on them just to take the focus away from the boxiness? It might work 😊👍.

I know you don't have a background in this but I think you have a great eye for it. Do you ever grow things from seed? I am addicted to growing things from seed, it's just fun to watch things grow from what looks like nothing into a huge plant. Happy growing!

I see you mulch everything in one video.. you just throw new over the old? Also watering it.. does it create some mold for bugs. I had some issue near my window had to remove it because i saw bugs all over. Anyway i love your videos and gardens. Its exactly my style that i want to create in my new home. Im in zone 9 in California trying to create a Japanese garden / tropical ISH style.
