Wow, "For us there is no world without the glasses" That's the only reality of our experience right there. No mind, no world. Brilliant. For me that throws a new light on my perspective. You can't remove the glasses, but you can KNOW your wearing them, and therefore drop all belief in what's experienced other than the experiencing itself. And at the same time fully be involved in the joy of the experience. Thanks Rupert. 🙏🙏

Anthony Salole : “ no mind no world” is true but if you consciously reach this state of awakened awareness, it is Bliss, Infinite Bliss. “ awake in deep sleep means you are conscious of deep sleep and few attain this exalted illuminated state. But first: the Mind must collapse into the heart, spiritually referred to as “manonash “( annihilation of the mind). Avatar Meher Baba said it best when he proclaimed : “Mind wants to know that which is beyond mind. To know that which is beyond mind, mind must go-vanish, leaving no vestige of itself behind. The humour of it is, the mind, which is finite, wants to retain itself and yet know Truth, which is infinite. This is the position of those who seek Truth through intellect. Few grasp this fact, and so most grope and grapple in vain” -Meher Baba -

I thought this when I first heard of Einstein's relativity. I just made me think that time existed at once and that maybe other parts of our spirit could access that, beyond the waking conscious mind. But it's always been just a feeling, or intuition, not a mental understanding; I'm not a scientist. I've never heard someone say it out loud, explained so specifically, so well. Thank you!

just broke all my glasses, happiness takes over!!! All of my story is complete, my birth my death,, all is there, but my mind cannot live with that. It must be apart to know it is not apart. and when it knows it is apart, it will die. Like a wave in the ocean must be apart of the ocean to know itself as a wave, and as it cannot live without the ocean it is doomed to dry. Likewise the mind is doomed to die when it stays apart seperated. Something inside feels this and is happy.. but it is not my mind,, it disappeared in the happiness itself.

Still can't wrap my head around it. Is experience really like a novel that is already written? Is everything already fixed? Seems (to my programmed ego admittedly) deadened and total void of spontaneity. Can't imagine that it's like that. The ego, yes. Everything the ego thinks, does, sees, experiences is fixed in that it's completely within the boundaries of it's programming.

While i was riding in bus i started noticing how everything moves during the ride but if i stay as an awareness undisturbed by the mind it seems to me as I enter into what i would call timeless realm if i have to describe it using ordinary language.My explanation would be that sense of time which mind perceives was temporary suspended by abing in awareness which is always in the now outside of sense of time.Am i correct?Did i have a little glimpse?

that raises more questions? 1. if all times are there at the same time and precognition becomes possible because the future can be seen in the present, then there is no free will. everything is already there and predestined, isn't it? 2. how do I come to the experience that all times exist simultaneously? Rupert excludes that the mind can experience and grasp that, so how does he himself know that ? how is the way to understand him and to follow him? 3. is there a good book on this, preferably by Rupert himself?

His explanation of time is identical to a description of how an atom functions. There are a lot of electrons moving around and they are part of the atom. I was looking for a good explanation of the illusion of time passing. We are always in the now. Present and future are thoughts happening in the now. Still i could not "brake" the felling that time is passing because of the changes occuring during the day (the morning - afternoon - eventing - night cyclus). This is al created by man but i was still locked in the time illusion. Now i understand. Everithing is happening right now, my whole life is already happened but the mind can only acces the experience of life thought by thought. This is excaltly what quantum fysics also aknowleadge. Science is in fact disvovering that time is not lineair

The model that all events (appearances that come and go) are equally present like the pages in a novel is interesting but it can also be quite misleading because it may come across as if the pages had the status of existence. The pages do not exist, except as potentiality. Potentiality is timeless. To say that the manifested pages are already existing as potentiality is like saying that the recipe is the meal and that all combinations of recipes are already present as an infinite number of cooked meals. I don't think so. The Now carries all the potentiality but releases (manifests) very specific, momentary events out of this virtually infinite pool of potentiality, as specific appearances, all happening in the Now as stated. In my opinion, there is a degree of unpredictability, built into the potentiality that includes and allows some creativity - unpredicted combinations of recipes - to appear. The point is that time does not exist, not even in the form of a novel. It only pretends to exist. It's okay (of course) to enjoy pretended existence, and that's what's happening anyway. It's more enjoyable though if the pretence is seen through! It's less serious.

Hello Sun! The point I was trying to make is that time is not real, it only appears to be real. Real is what perceives and facilitates the unreal. We could say that all appearances are equally non-existing, they never actually manifest into a stationary state. By the way, eternalism is a philosophical (theoretical) approach. Science can only observe the non-stationary (non-existing) ephemeral fluctuance of appearances. Please note that I am not interested in being right. I was inspired by your comment.

I understand that past and future are illusory, but not sure about the idea that it is all written out, so to speak, and that we only experience life “page by page,” to use the metaphor of one’s life as a novel. That would suggest free will is illusory, as well, which is a bridge too far for me. I agree that now is all we ever have, but things did happen “in the past,” although of course when they happened they happened in the now, which is eternal. But still something doesn’t quite click for me, and I can’t put my finger on it. Can anyone help?

Quite recently I read a book by Brian Greene called "The Fabric of the Cosmos". There are some amazing chapters about time, relativity and most importantly quantum mechanics. And this is the point which crosses reality and our perception of reality. Quantum mechanics shows and underlines human mind limitations face to face to our own observations which we can't never understand. This bizzare branch of of physics that is based on not understanding it appears more valid the less we try to understand. And this speech is actually in total conformity with all these theories of modern phycics, even though what Rupert is saying is obviously not coming from any scientific research... Do you know what I mean? Physics is just a group of keyholes through which some people look at the infinite sky behind the door. And maybe there is no other way to understand and see the whole image of the sky than not to think.

I can see how this biological filter is colouring my personal experience and how it is always 'now'. Still there is really no way for me to know anything about the structure of the infinite awareness, I rather call 'God'. Infinity can not be described ofcourse, but I'll try anyway. Can God be like a facetted diamond where our individuallity is like one of the facettes? Maybe this is what my ego wants, but there's no way for us to know this, is there? The buddhist interpretation is, that our individuallity is like raindrops on their way to fall in the ocean. But the Vedic reports preceding Buddism by 2500 years, are describing the individual soul reincarnating over and over until maturity is reached. In a way Christianity is promising a destiny for the individual soul as well. Just maybe the raindrop and the ocean is more like the little rock rolling down from the mountain. Rupert says there is no "why" in non-duality because "why" implies a subject and an object. Instead of a reason, I think he describes this nature as a blooming of reality just like nature blooms all around us. And he says life doesn't have meaning or purpose here: non-duality.rupertspira.com/watch/life-doesnt-have-a-meaning-vc

I understand what Rupert is saying and I appreciate it. My inner source however, is telling me there's no border between the material manifestation and the conscious energy. This is 'it'. It is one undivided one. We are individuals in 'both worlds' so to speak, although we are all interconnected. In other words, the world is not outside of us. We are not in this world, but the world is inside of us. Every time when we open our eyes we are looking at what's inside of us. It is the way how our individual consciousness is decoding the greater conscious energy and is showing us what we are. Individuality to me is evident and yes it is infinite by nature. This is my honest perception of reality and I am open for suggestions.

Is there “forgetting” in the now?

body mind Philosophically what would the answer be? And why? My guess is that in an ever present now that time not existing would make memory irrelevant and so how does this effect forgetfulness? I’m so curious what the answer might be.
@alenk75
@alenk75 6 жыл бұрын
jessie SX The way I see it is that concepts of time and memory only exist in a mind that processes experiences in a sequential way. Without such mind everything would be happening at once so there could be no memory or forgettance.

What do you mean by 'forgetting in the now'? You are always in the now and you (like everyone else) do forget things, so I'm sure the answer is yes. If you mean forgetting in general, then memories are just mental constructs. Forgetfulness is just misplaced mental constructs.

I don't mean to be flippant, but doesn't God's infinite, dimensionless being sound boring compared to the diversity we experience through the prisim of our limited mind experience? Maybe I'll keep my sunglasses on for now and just enjoy the trip!

I experienced it once, whilst meditating. To be bored is a human concept conceived by the need to do or want or have. When you transcend the physical, you are no longer human. Bliss is the not needing, wanting, having , being bored etc.. It simply is pure Bliss. You can also experience this in the physical world, to a lesser extent.

There is no "human mind" to be a prism, and this kind of language perpetuates that myth. The one belief in objectivity acts as the lens or filter of "knowing". True knowing knows only the indivisibility of Mind.

Sandy carter : You are right. Avatar Meher Baba said it best when he proclaimed: “Mind wants to know that which is beyond mind.

4:30 the novel analogy. Yeah..Reality is up-ruh-mey-um according to vedanta. Unknowable, unexplainable, unverbalizable 🤭 Other standard analogies: foam,waves in the ocean; jewelry/gold; the sky reflected in a pot of water vs the "actual" sky etc 11:00 know the the nature of knowing 12:58 maybe the 19th cenury stereoscope maybe a better analogy vs the sunglasses?🙂

It isn't correct to say that all time is going on at once. Nothing is actually ever happening at all. The so-called observer/belief is required to provide attention or focus. The fact is, it is all just data, but there aren't events or conditions or things "happening". To say that all time is going on simultaneously, gives the mistaken impression that everything is going on at once, whereas, it all arises from the implicate order, now, as data. It isn't brought to "life" until there is the observer. It can't all be going on at once because there is no cause or effect at the "level" of the seen. There are no doers. The projection is "now" and "now" and "now".

You can't explain it in an object way. The best you can do is something like Rupert's book analogy.

Actually new physics now recognizes that in order to describe the observed, you need to involve the view of the observer. You cannot describe the observed without taking the observer into consideration. In Advaita, the boundaries between the observer and the observed vanish, with only observation or experience taking place.

An artist theory on the physics of 'Time' as a physical process. Quantum Atom Theory Why can you only accept it when it is explained by science? Can't you see any kind of explanation, even that of the most advanced scientists, is ruled by the limitations of the human mind. Also scientists have goggles on 🤓 Accept what makes you happy, ignore if you feel resistance. That's all you need to navigate through life 😁

This makes no sense. How can time and space not exsist? What is his proof that this is a false model?
@medwaca

NO, we experience time, I dont know what time exactly it is (how long does it take) for the realization of our experience, maybe its 0,1 sec, maybe 0,000001 sec, but experience is in time, in the everpresent time, if it is very fast, its not a NOW without time, its just a very short time... also if you could travel with light speed or evan faster in other spaces and come back to earth it could be possible that you experienced a few years passed, and people on earth only a few seconds or the opposite... when you sleep, counciousness of experience falls away, but things in your body and on earh are happening youre just missed them... if you(your mind) dont know it it does not mean its not existing, thats silly and I heard those assumptions before... there are evan objects in space that bend time... Im not a expert but I heard those scientific stuff ,,many times" before...

j conrad how can U get it when rupert himself told that noone can get it (with mind)... so if you think you can get it youre fooling yourself or just beliving what you think you understand... when you experience it as experiential truth that is real 4 U (get enlightened) then you can say that you get it... i assume (and assumptions are not that good but still) that youre not enlightened... (,,not like rupert" mooji, ramana and so on) youre just like me... no matter what you think or belive (thinking, beliving is just not it nomatter what someone thinks or belives)

Yeah I haven't truly got it (yet) but I have an approximation of it, that's what Rupert is attempting to enlighten us about. He's giving us approximations and analogies with that intention. That's what any teacher does. You meanwhile, are way off base, which is my point. Say you're trying to get to Sonora, Mexico from LA on foot. What you need to do is move in a southeasterly direction and you'll eventually get there after a long ass time. What you're doing now is heading Northwest or some other unhelpful direction. That's just an analogy btw, there is nowhere to go because you're already there in truth. You'll prob get mad hearing this but you should thank me for telling you to reconsider your bearings. Watch the video again and try to understand the idea he's trying to convey or just keep getting mad at me. Your choice.

j conrad I'm not mad... i understand it, i had some experiences trought meditation and psyhodelics, i experienced all of this, there is no me in fact, but i dont denie what i experience right now and i question the non dual understanding that i and other still have... i cant lie to myself or delude my self, you do... you explain to me that what is not true and real for you... just theory... tought, belief... if not, then Im wrong about you and thats ok, im not mad, i love you because youre trying to help and iam asking for it, that why im here and listening to rupert... belive me i understand all of this with my mind, but it is not the experiential truth for me, not at all...
@jconrad8585
@jconrad8585 6 жыл бұрын
How can you understand it if you keep claiming there is time? It doesn't exist, it's not 0.000000001 sec or whatever, there is only the now always. Like I said there are conceptions that are closer to the truth and conceptions that are further from the truth. Try to understand that there is no such thing as time. When you go to sleep and wake up it feels like no time has passed at all because like Rupert says there is no such thing as time. That's a good example demonstrating the non existence of time.
