here's my reaction to all too well (10 minute version) live on snl. I mean...it's all just a little bit iconic isn't it. this is my third video in like, two days. someone left a comment the other day saying: the devil works hard but Taylor swiftologist works harder, and they were so right. if you haven't already, check out my other red (taylor's version) videos:

I have been binge watching your videos non stop, love the commentary you give for Taylor swift. So many reaction videos I watch praise everything she does, it’s so refreshing that you add a critical lens. It makes me feel like I’m not alone, I’ve been a fan since Fearless and Red is also my favorite album. While I like 1989, Reputation was hard for me because it was so different in production. I didn’t become a full swiftie till folklore and evermore. I know you get a lot of hate for speaking your truth, so I just want to tell you to keep doing what you’re doing and living your best life. I’ll be here to watch.

Agreed-she looked stunning & was giving us all the emotions! I agree she sounded a little off but I don't think it was her, I think it was the sound not done right. I've noticed that many times on SNL because they are constantly changing which body mics, floor mics & sound cues are live & which aren't. Then if a Mic goes out or there's feedback they make changes which can change her sound set up. Sorry, a lot of info, but I've worked in theatre for nearly 40 years! Hope that helps a little! And I agree about the Jack Antinoff version-good call!

I think Taylor is intending for the 10 min version of ATW, with the new production, to be the main form of ATW going forward. I’d LOVE to see a live performance of the 10 min version with something resembling the old production though. Maybe we’ll get an acoustic version one day? My main issue with the production in the 10 minute version is it lacks dynamic contrast- most of this comes from Taylor’s vocals. It works beautifully as a soundtrack to the film, but less well as a song that can retain attention for 10 minutes. I really liked the small changes, like the stops, the band made for this performance. It really helped put some contrast back in and highlight a shift in the story.

I love this performance so much and it’s really inspiring because she may not be Adele as a singer but that dramatic performance was mesmerizing and captivating and certainly doesn’t feel like 10 minutes.

Say what you will, but if this performance hadn’t happened., I wouldn’t have seen the light, and wouldn’t have found you. 😀. Personally I think it’s perfect. I couldn’t stop playing it, I became a geriatric Swiftie, and when my daughter made friendship bracelets to bring to the Aviva last week, she gave me one with ‘Swiftologist No 1 Fan’ on it. 😂 But I’m right - it’s an iconic performance.

I’m not a vocal expert so it’s interesting to hear people’s opinions on this. I feel like this was such a powerfully emotive performance though, literally crying and feeling the gut wrench when she sings “just between us did the love affair maim you too…..” fuck I’ll never recover

@@atesah considering i’m a singer and my ears are very sensitive to when something sounds flat, i’ll admit i have to stop myself from wincing a little, even though the average person wouldn’t notice or care. overall, i can look at it from that perspective and realize that the emotions add positively to the performance.
