Thanks Kris. I enjoy seeing the progress and learning from your expertise. I collected a number of species for a garden in Auckland New Zealand based on your posts. Its great to view how your palms are doing and to anticipate how mine will go on the other side of the world. Cheers Lance

Very interesting- thanks for the update. Your climate seems close to perfect for Trachycarpus. Can't wait to see the T. nanus X T. wagnerianus crosses

I prefer the oreophilus over the princeps. I got mine from holland, my palmtree shop. It's absolutely stunning. 3 years I've had it now

Bananas grow a new leaf at the height of summer in July. Less so now but still pretty quick!

Hi Kris -The Trachycarpus Oreophilus is truly stunning-radically different from the others. What is that yellow banding on some palm fronds? My Trachycarpus have had this symptom all summer and still have it now.

I totally agree the oerophilus is very distinctive. The yellow rings are probably frost damage when a leaf was emerging.

thanks Kris I thought it was some kind of pest or a disease. @@YorkshireKRIS

Was that a Red Brickus Trachycarpus that I spotted? :-) Only joking Kris - all looking great and love hearing the water trickling in the background
