Just bought a 2024 TRD OFF Road Premium Silver Metallic, with 7 Miles & With Off Road Tires and The ride height is taller! Love It !! This is a family Keeper for a long time maybe next year I’ll buy another 2 more 2024 of the same Models & Trim, just To have orange & Blue. I wish the FJ was back for One Last Go of Its V6. Well done! Better than any breakdown I've seen. All on the table for me to choose which trim model meets me and my family needs. For me, I don't off road at all, I just want reliability, comfort with all the bells and whistles. so it will be the Limited if price point is not an issue. But for the best value, I'll go with the SR5 Premium and adding on Running Boards, Power Moon roof and that sliding cargo rear deck. Ice Cap with Sand Beige Interior.

Fantastic review. Just recently picked up my 2024 TRD Pro after a 5 month waiting period and I'm over the moon with the choice. One option not mentioned is that Toyota also threw in both carpet and rubber floor mats along with a TRD stamped full size cooler for ice/food/drinks.

With the way / number of the different levels are, ya need a spread sheet and /or a flow chart to keep it all straight. I hate it but it's time to man up to a TRD Pro! Prices are are just stupid.

I have a TRD Off Road in Ice Cap with black logos, and I added leather heated seats through Katzkin Leather and I couldn’t be happier. Most of the Off Road Limited and Pro upgrades I don’t really care about, but it came down to availability and color. The dealer upgrades sealed the deal. With black TRD pro wheels and Mickey Thompson AT tires at 285/70 and a 3” lift kit I was immediately smitten. Most of my 4x4 consists of driving in snow and going skiing, with some relatively light use on dirt roads. This is my first Toyota, and I am very happy with my 4Runner.

I recently bought the 2024 Pro in the Terra color. It was hard to come by so I made no fuss about the mark-up. Its unique in that the tone changes with lighting, from a warm burgundy to a bright copper. It's amazing. Like was said... you get it because it's something special and what it can do. I had a 2020 Blazer before. I loved the tech. GM does a great job in this department however, I couldn't see myself keeping this car long-term regardless of the comfort, which meant comfort and the upgraded tech wasn't that important. Reliability is. In my opinion, If you don't own a 5th generation 4 Runner, might be missing out on what could be the last greatest Toyota of all time.

TRD ORP over a PRO all day. Spend the money on some Camburg arms and 2.5 Kings. You’re still money ahead, have better suspension, and can do a BMC with some 285/295’s. I’m not a fan of the big roof rack on the PRO either.

Excellent review, color Voodoo Blue is tops, with Tera second. Bought the SR5 Premium, compared to many expensive 4X4's (trucks) this is the best optioned vehicle with a decent highway ride. Only thing I will upgrade is the premium sound system, if you really like music, it's not so premium.

All models are available with part time 4wd, except the limited which is full time. That’s a great question as the full time 4wd system could arguably be better. The only biggest benefit for part time 4wd is the ability for the driver to choose which mode is best for current conditions, while the full time 4wd system keeps the driver more out of the equation

I just ordered and bought a new 2024 Toyota 4Runner limited with every single option available sliding rear cargo deck camera, 4 x 4 ice white it’s my second forerunner and I’ll never trade it in. I have to warn everybody 2024 is the last year of the V6 engine. They put a four-cylinder turbo but a four-cylinder out of it which of course make it wear out quicker cause you’ll run the guts out of it and who knows what you’re gonna find, what you want you better get it now my friends

You mentioned the 5-speed transmission as if it's inferior, because it doesn't have twice as many speeds like newer vehicles. The 5th generation didn't need anything more than 5 speeds. That transmission has survived the test of time, and proved quite adequate and reliable.

You’re absolutely correct on the reliability. I was more referring to transmissions with more gears and newer technology to be better for fuel economy and possibly performance as shown by the common use of 8 or 10 speed transmissions in many modern vehicles. Thanks for the comment!

I’m just looking to drive mostly around town and on Hwy. But I want basically all the bells and whistles. Mainly heated and ventilation seats, moon roof, heated steering wheel and automatic running boards and Leather seats. I have been looking at all the models. But the more videos I watch the more I get confused. I like the beefy look and style of the SR5 premium/ the trd premium. But I think the limited has most of the features I’m looking for. Limited will definitely have the most features you are looking for, but you’d more than likely have to go with aftermarket parts to get a more aggressive look. TRD Offroad Premium will be most well equipped with the looks you like short of the TRD Pro. It sounds like the Limited would give you the best experience for what you are looking for, and you could always add some more offroad type wheels/tires/accessories down the road.

Part time 4wd has to be controlled by the driver, meaning you’ll be in 2wd until you switch the vehicle into 4wd. Full time 4wd works automatically to engage when it’s needed

The difference lies in the operation of the system. Generally speaking, 4wd will have a transfer case while AWD utilizes a center differential. The differential allows greater variance of power sent to each wheel. Full time 4wd is still a more “traditional” 4x4 system that will engage or disengage automatically (think on/off) while AWD will constantly change

AWD generally has a center differential and will alter the power sent to each axle while 4wd utilizes a transfer case and is either on or off or will automatically switch between 2wd and 4wd in the case of full time 4wd. AWD is generally better for on road grip and more slippery situations but not as good as traditional 4x4 in tougher off road situations

Sounds like SR5 Premium or TRD Sport could be a good option for you depending on which styling you prefer. Suspension on the TRD Sport and Limited should give a better ride on pavement

LIMITED! the luxury of leather/wood, the durabililty of the 4r. I only got trail rash once, on my black metallic 2007 FJ TRD, and said 'never again!' so no rock climbing for me, just Wal-mart speed bump climbing. The direct comparison newby luxoboat crown signia, with ultra light weight in the unibody stamped metal, plastic where Toyota can get away with it and hamster wheel motor, BUT ME TOO! similar pricing to the 4R limited, looks like every other SUV out there. Not to mention 4 bangers work twice as hard as V6's and V8 motors, can't expect million miles outta them. The lexus compo models take premium gas - fuggedboudthem, with no real performance diff, even the discontinued 460 V8 is within a second of the 4r on speed measurements. i am gonna miss no crawl control on the limited, had that on my 2014 Fj; but i have 4 additional studded snow tires on rims for wintering with my 2021 Tundra, and ice is what they are there for and they do real good. i am Buying the 2024 4R like i bought the 2021 Tundra: when it is gone this year, the last and best trucks Toyota ever made (including the original Land Cruiser) will never be seen again.
