"THE FUTURE" is an awesome new mod for The Binding of Isaac Repentance that adds an entire new floor to the game which accessed through the "Steven NPC". Steven has a unique dialogue for every single character in the game as well as over 30 modded characters like Fiend, Andromeda and Samael! This video is a showcase of every single one of them, enjoy!

I love that the mod has API functionality for character mod creators to add their own dialogue. I've been working on a character mod for a while and found out about this feature very recently and decided to add in some dialogue. THE FUTURE is so goddamn cool

The T. Samael one unronically is my favorite, just the comment that Steven got chills out of nowhere is such a good quote to what is essentially being in the oressence of Death Itself before it was jsut a silly "oh you lookin for soemone? might know a place?" But T. Sam is different, he just comes into a room and reaps witohut a second though, all that follows him is a chilling underworld aura of terror

I love how it alternates between being ominous, funny, or both. The Andromedas especially, going from “Tarot cards are bullshit, I’ll show you the *real* future”, to “I wonder if the void has a fate of its own…”. These guys have a great sense of writing.

I love this mod so much, and they nailed Steven’s style here because he looks like he’s ripped straight out of The End is Nigh, just teleported into the Binding of Isaac. I didn’t know Steven had dialogue for modded characters, too, which is really cool! (Plus the Peat and Car dialogue is also hilarious) Hope to see more dialogue for new characters soon, seeing that theres placeholder dialogue too.

So I'm pretty sure the Dante dialogue is a reference to the fact that the divine comedy (whose most famous part is more known as Dante's inferno) is basically Christian fanfiction, and very, very biased Christian fanfiction. Dante hated the catholic church of his day so he wrote a story about himself journeying through heaven and hell, mocking the church and various people he didn't like.
