Hi Jay That was mixed clutch. They were all so pretty. I really would like to see them after they are out of their eggs. I am glad that you had a one of a kind snake. Cindy

What makes cutting their eggs open and pulling them out of their fluids differ from other species and it being fatal for some? If the snake hasn't pipped itself, would cutting the egg and exposing everything inside, especially the entire snake itself, harm any step of its growth process? Asking for a friend.

Some breeders cut a hole so that in case the snake hasn't developed an egg tooth, it can still come out. But I don't think you should take them out of the egg, go watch an amazing channel called snake discovery, they explain it better than I do.

@@xxace_weirdoxx9632 oh so the guy selling them for 20 years is risking his profit? I think not. I think they have a higher is of not being able to cut themselves out. Ask jay how many survived. As would he risk one of a kind snakes? No

He is making sure that 1) The umbilical cord isn't wrapped round the snake because when it starts to come out on its own it'll strangle the snake in effect... 2) He is making sure the snake is ok, not deformed and not a twin for example 3) He is bursting the fluid sack by sticking his finger under the snake and lifting up, that way the snake can get its first breath of oxygen. Yes, at times whilst he is bursting the sack he handles it slightly...doesnt remove the snake and the snakes come out by themselves. He is just making sure every snake survives and whilst he does that, he talks about genetics and shows us the snakes colouration for those people who genuinely enjoy learning about the genetics and/or they are in the reptile community.
@masonsmorphs

Peruna Muussi got it. You have a valid point. I’m not sure taking the snake out of the egg a little harms them at all.
@vlogplannet12
@vlogplannet12 4 жыл бұрын
He has to pop the sack they are in so that they can breathe and then start absorbing that yolk. Remember once you cut the egg the little blood vessels that carry oxygen from the shell to the snake in the sack are now gone...so unless it gets out the sack it'll suffocate. Even if an egg is cut - the babies can still drown in their sack if they don't break through it or if its got its umbilical cord wrapped round it in which case it strangles the snake. So by doing what he is doing he is ensuring that the snakes are healthy, no deformities, 2heads or twins etc, he makes sure the cord isn't tangled round the snake and he makes sure their sack is burst causing them to breath air which then starts the yolk absorption process.

I don’t want to be rude, but when you cut the eggs you should wait for them to come out by themselves. Cutting the egg to help them come out when needed is good, but you should let them come out when they’re ready to. I don’t mean any hate, just trying to give a bit of advice, not hate

@@outerdimension8035 In the wild of course, it isn't. The snake would have to cut themselves out with the eggtooth, and some snakes wouldn't make it, but that's survival of the fittest. In breeding snakes as pets however, you can help them get out since they don't have to survive on thier own. You should wait around 24 hours after one of the eggs have pipped (Baby inside cut the egg) so that the rest have a chance to get out by themselves. Then you can start cutting the eggs, but definitely shouldn't pull out a baby before it's ready to come out. I watch Snake Discovery, she's awesome and all the snakes she has are amazing. But anyway, you can ask me more questions, I hope I helped

Jay also makes sure their heads are not tangled and could potentially drown if the head is on the bottom of the egg. He also makes sure they take their first breath. He puts them back in the egg to finish absorbing the yolk and detach the cord

I think some breeders do so to tell what morphs they have from their clutch. Ive read, in a comment section, it can also help the baby in the pipping process. I have watched other channels that only SHOW a part of the baby's body through a tiny hole they cut, leaving the face and entire body in the egg and fluids so the baby can finishing cooking" (as I call it). I guess everyone is different in how and why they do things? Every breeder or even farmers have a different way of handling, keeping, mating, feeding , etc of their stock.
