It is important to know the difference between emotional stability and materialism. There are many people who are poor and follow frugal lifestyles who do not have harmony in life. Emotional stability is a separate issue. Do not romanticize frugality thinking it is the key to emotional stability. Having less gives you more opportunities to witness yourself. But you must still do the work of dealing with your demons.

great video ! I will say this I've been my happiest after 2 marriages , 3 children , and "having it all" when I had a 35 liter backpack with everything I needed and living for months on various long distance hiking trails (Appalachian , Pinhoti , and Pacific Crest Trail) once getting back to "civilization" my mind becomes anxious and my body feels sludgy

Yes, I live in the Adirondack mountains in upstate NY, I hike at least 4 days a week for 4 or 5 hours. I have to climb and escape to keep my mind balanced. I am a minimalist and try to get off the internet. Too much KZbin can be toxic

I don't know why so many people assume we work to buy crap. From Portugal, to France and several places in the UK, I've seen most people work to pay bills and still need to grow children in terrible places and eat edibles instead of food. It's not "consumerism", it's attempting to have the bare minimum.... for the family. The ones that can consume, please keep doing. It's food on the table for other people. Having that said, if you decide not having a family, then do a favor to yourself and have a simple life.

@@user-jb7bp5do6c because in the US health insurance is not provided by the government so one must have a job that provides it or pay a very high cost out of pocket.
