He caught a deep ball against Dallas. Tried two against Houston. It is still a work in progress. They will get it figured out. Go Lions!!

When you get spoiled by Goff's ability to throw the ball so early and then you watch another NFL QB hold the ball for seemingly forever, it gets frustrating. "Throw the ball! What the heck, what are you waiting for, the receiver to get open? Just trust him and let it go!" I'm amazed how I just take it for granted now.

Great work as always! But if I may, an aside: Remember when people were worried about Jamo's hands? 🤔🤭🤣🤣🤣🤣

me personally as a lions fan, this is what ive wanted to see from Jamo from the beginning. we knew he could run the out rout and get a 30 yard explosive. but i always wanted to see what he could do in the middle of the field.

I think Goff’s deep ball is average in the league or probably above average in a clean pocket. But deep pass completion is also a WR stat. Jamo has shown to struggle tracking the ball early on in his career with a couple exceptions. They are both good enough to force defenses to account for the deep ball. Jamo body type is not like Tyreek’s. He can become more affected by DBs getting their hands on him in his route. Slimmer guy. But once the balls in his hands he’s truly dynamic. If he can catch the ball 6-8 times a game his impact would be pretty ridiculous. So expanding his route tree to include a couple more crossers and comebacks seems like a no brainer. Seeing it click is really amazing to see. Already seeing tons of growth from him on the field tho. He fits this offense really well. And I think Goff will get better at throwing the ball into open space down the field. Goff likes to throw some ducks here and there which become less predictable the further they travel it seems.

So many of our players are such that if you get them the ball in the right place they will be in a position to make a big play. Any time Gibbs or Jamo touches the ball it could be a house call. I think our offense is really good at giving players those opportunities.

Nothing wrong with an offense that has high completion percentage throws and can run the ball nothing but efficient

Jared doesn't have that cannon arm, but the consolation prizes of elite level defensive set recognition, attacking blitz's efficiently, all around mid game, and all time accuracy in the history of the league, are all "good enough for Detroit."

@ oh okay makes sense. You’re absolutely right about using jamo as more like a gibbs type of getting him the ball quicker in open space i assume it worked so good in college because of the fact that collegiate football players aren’t savvy enough to be able to play with his speed

I can understand having him run fly routes to clear out the middle of the field because the safeties have to get back. What i can't understand is why it's taken this long to get him the ball over the middle and let him show off that ungodly speed. He should be getting 5 to 7 targets every game running crosses drags or slants. He's literally tyreek with a little more height

They seem to be now using the same type of routes he ran so successfully at Alabama. I have been wondering why they weren't using them right from the beginning. I used to laugh how helpless he made the SEC db's look catching these crossing patterns.

When we drafted him I couldn't believe it. Dudes the fastest guy I've seen, tyreek and randy included. Could never understand why we couldn't get the ball in his hands quickly in space and let him fly. That touchdown last week he hit the corner then jogged that last 40 yards. Dudes speed is unreal

Goff's arm is not real strong and he doesn't spin the ball very good at all! He is great with throws up to 35 yards, anything over that he is 40 percent completion at best!!!

goeff is fine - but can not throw deep ... and thats sorta a shame ..... it would be nice to see that raw speed
