I had a Rav 4WD Limited and I did love it. I looked at a new one to replace it with. I also looked at the Forester Touring (Premiere in Canada). I’m in my late 50s and only drive about 6K miles a year. So I knew that whatever I chose, it’ll probably be the last vehicle I’ll ever need to buy. I hope you’re enjoying your Rav as much as I’m enjoying my Forester.

I don't get the hype that Mazdas do not get good gas mileage. My previous car, a Honda CR-V, got 23 mpg on the twisty mountain roads around my home. My 2016 Mazda CX-5, gets 30 mpg. And it still looks classier and handles better than any Honda or Toyota crossover.

Great review, however that Rav 4 is not the XLE premium. The wheels on that are a standard XLE.
@Allcarseveryday3 жыл бұрын
Thank you! The gray one in most of the shots is in fact an XLE Premium, but it’s the Hybrid model (hence the different wheels and headlights-everything else is identical to the normal gas version). I drove a normal gas XLE for the driving impressions, though, to make sure that part was accurate as well.

Great job on the comparison! Random question though, where'd you find that wallpaper at 4:30?

A good review video generally runs about 15-25 min. A lot of details here. Don’t really need to see up close pictures of the car app. Appreciate the effort though. Nice video quality. I’m sure you’ll refine things as you go along. I test drove the Forester Sport and CX-5 among others. Loved the CX-5 almost a sports car feel with handling etc. However the infotainment system is not easy to use at all and the visibility in blind spots is not good. I’m 54 so younger might not be an issue. Forester Sport is a great car. Pleasure to drive. RAV4 looks cooler but noisy and stiff. I chose the Sport. Large sunroof makes light and airy.
@russclaeyborn35873 жыл бұрын
I'm 64, and if I can get used to the Infotainment System, anyone can. After driving a car with hardly any technology in it, for 22 years, I bought my 2021 CX-5, and it seemed overwhelming at first, but we're warming up to each other. I especially like it, where it will play my favorite songs from my USB flash drive through the USB port. The blind spots aren't good, but I believe the blind spots are bad in all the SUVs that sit off the ground, and has high back rear seats. I'm glad there's a rear view camera on the monitor when backing up, and the side mirrors work well.

Furthermore, unnecessary all-wheel drive significantly adds to maintenance costs. For example, if you don't replace tires with exactly the same model and brand and tread depth as the originals, you're in for an extremely costly repair down the road to your AWD system. My Mazda CX-5 Touring AWD required SHAVING DOWN the replacement for a tire that broke to bring the tread depth to that of the others. Tread depth was significantly below that of new tires. And don't fall for the myth that you can put two other brands, models and tread depths on one axle. Those tires need to be rotated, sometimes in complex patterns that will kill your AWD if the tires don't match!
@brasshound44422 жыл бұрын
Mazda has a nice maintenance program that covers you for oil changes and tire rotations every 5000 miles along with an inspection for other potential issues. It's well work the $10 a month.

Thank you for highlighting almost all the significances. Your video helped me to make a decision. I am from Chicago and I think Subaru would be more compatible under deep snow. I am a little concern about the parts of Subaru, We all know Toyota is easy to exchange hands OR any mechanic can easily diagnose it when it comes to restoration from body to engine. I am not sure how things going to be with Subaru. Would that be more expensive and painful to get it repaired?
@Allcarseveryday3 жыл бұрын
I think Subaru is a brand that is mainstream enough that you will not have problems with the parts/reparability of the vehicle. The powertrain is unique compared to other vehicles, but Subaru uses a variation of the same Boxer engine in lots of its vehicles--I'm sure reputable mechanics are familiar with it. I would theorize that repair costs are pretty similar, but that being said I am not 100% sure.

@barackblows19423 жыл бұрын
@CountryStranger Look at the NHTSA website for the Subaru model that you’re considering. For 2021 there are numerous complaints already about windshields cracking. It’s too soon for a head gasket problem; give it a few years. If you want reliably, then buy a Toyota. 👍
@michaelscofield24442 жыл бұрын
Trust me. In Chicago you wanna have Subaru Outback, Impreza , Forester. AWD will help you a lot. I know cause I am there. And yes, buy the XT if you are looking for a good reliable car with no CVT transmission. Last year they made it was 2014. So still a good year to buy for less money. Just look for any clean title with no accidents. You are welcome
