Username: administrator

Please note: If the rack has only 1769-AENTR, the power supply and the end cap 1769-ECR, the "MOD" indicator at the upper left corner of the module will keep flashing red regardless. It will only turn to solid green once the rack has at least 1 IO module.

I assume this can be used to add a plant (separate) network to the PLC network. If a Machine network is 192.168.1.XXX and the Plant network is 10.10.20.XXX we can have the PLC on the 2 networks?

@mhayw6: The 2 ports on this 1769-AENTR module share the same IP which has to be on the same network with the PLC. For your application, you will need to set up 2 separate IP addresses to the 2 RJ45 ports on the controller/PLC. Only the new CompactLogix PLCs let you do it. So I can change the ip address from rslinxclassic , 7:46 can I set any number from switches ? For example 987 ? Instead of 777

@T---dq2qv: @0:27 a valid input is any number between 1 and 254. If the switches are set to 987, it will be out of the valid range and will not be set to the module. Thank you for your comments. Please let me know if you have any more questions.

Informative ! Why does the setting up IP address fails for the first time but ok for the second time from Rslinx? THANK YOU.

@Dennis Jiu: It failed on the first time because @6:12 it was originally set for "Dynamic (DHCP)" by factory. That's why you have to enable "Web Server" to set set it to "static" before you can change ip address from Rslinx. For studying and testing purposes, I have to show working on Rslinx first even it fails. However, everyone will know why and how important we need to enable "Web Server" and change "Ethernet Interface Configuration" to "Static" before doing anything from Rslinx. Hopefully this answers your question. It is actually very good. Thank you for bringing up this question in the comments. Bonus for your good comments: You can also disable "Web Server" by setting all the front switches to 8,8,8 @3:06.
