You see AI always did an escape crossover on Kobe because he knew Kobe was too good of a defender to cross him straight up. You can find old games of them every time AI crossed in front (like he did MJ) Kobe would poke it or strip it or crowd him. So instead of crossing it over AI usually did an escape cross into jump shots because he knew he’d get enough space to shoot .
