Kobe and Iverson were cold-blooded Killers going at it every night. That's why they respected each other at the highest level. The difference between them was the help they got. Iverson gets a over-the-hill dikembe mutombo, and a bunch of role players... Kobe gets the most dominant big man and three-point assassin's backing him. It was never going to happen for the 76ers.

I was 13 years old watching this at a family get together at my aunties house in San Diego. This game was a classic. My little cousin Justin had just been born. Allen Iverson was my favorite player. The symbolism of AI stepping over Lue is so poetic. The Sixers were up against a giant in the Lakers, and after hitting that step back, AI stepped over the only guy on the court shorter than him. But look at Kobe when he didn't have a team around him after Shaq left.....he took most of the shots. Look at Jordan before Pip and Phil got there, he took most of the shots. AI NEVER had a team around him, so he had to take most of the shots. No one can name one star or superstar that AI played with during his prime that was on his team. And no, Denver wasn't when he was in his prime. It was from 2000-2006. And for everyone that says he was a ball hog, these are his CAREER stats. 26.7 ppg, *6.2 apg* , 3.7 reb, 2.2 stl.

Haha, it shows just how much Iverson did as a player himself. He outscores what some call the 'best player of all time' by 33 points, and they only by six. The rings argument will always be confusing to me - Iverson was better than every player not named Shaq in this series. He truly deserved it.
@RenzyTheGreat10 жыл бұрын
Who the hell calls Kobe the G.O.A.T? He wasn't even the best player on 3 out of his 5 championship teams. But the rings argument is very stupid.

I remember as a hs student, when I was getting into basketball at that time, this was the nba finals that really sticks out in my memory. I remember after this game, EVERYONE was talking about iverson. From basketball players to musicians to potheads to nerds to girls and teachers. Everyone knew who AI was. Damn I didn't realize how iconic of a moment this was at the time. But definitely a helluva game from the answer.

People don’t realize that AI was better than Kobe when they first came out of that 96 draft. He was better for a while before Kobe eventually took the reigns over AI but this game was a testimonial to that

Both of them where so hungry!!! Its insane!!! Kove started to overtake A.I a bit after realizing he wasnt gonna win on a square up technical game with him. (Shit, nobody could). He figured out to start using his size to his advantage
