I agree with Steven, the Beatles were human and letting people go, was a company necessity. We, the fans, don't always love human Beatles. Thank you gentlemen, great information as always.

Great show, totally enjoyed listening. A great book to learn more on the subject, I highly recommend ... 'You Never Give Me Your Money': The Beatles After the Breakup by Peter Doggett . I couldn't put it down, Honest research and evenly covers all the four members reaction to Klein during this period.

Dick James is my favorite character in the Beatles-verse at the moment. Sweet, sweet revenge he unleashed on them.

James Paul McCartney died in car crash on September 11 1966 and was replaced by William (Billy). This is the truth no matter what!

1:09:55 - 😂😂😂😂Actually Two Virgins and Wonderwall Music had some interesting and funny bits about them and they're both somewhat enjoyable, but Electronic Sound and Life With the Lions were both pure shit. I mean, 15 minutes of tapping a radio dial and a yawning version of "Good Night" on acoustic. I was yawning, too.

George was handling his affairs pretty well, I'd say, with developing Harrisongs, Ltd., but I think Paul was kind of a dick for not telling John about his buying extra shares. They were a team - John brought Paul into the band. Without John, who knows if Paul would have made it big. I think John was right to be pissed.

Why Harrison signed with Northern Songs in 1965 is a mystery, has he had Harrisongs Ltd in 1964. It gave him 100% copyright and 80% publishing royalties (20% remaining going to NEMS, who he cut out in 1970) which is pretty unprecedented for the artist, especially back then. He signed to company where he owned nothing, and Lennon and McCartney made more profit from his songs than he did.

John could have bought extra shares too. It wasn’t like Paul had some secretive special arrangement…shares were open to be bought by anyone who cared to. Regarding your other comments, they are completely speculative. Yes, John brought Paul into the band but that doesn’t mean McCartney’s talents were completely dependent upon John.

@@drummer78 I love how it's "justified" when McCartney does something underhanded. Were they equal partners in songwriting whether the other person wrote it or not? Were there shares in Northern Songs near equal when the company was formed? They were PARTNERS. A gentleman's agreement between the two of them on their path to success. If McCartney has to do something without his PARTNER knowing he's doing it, I'm not sure why it's justified. It was sneaky, behind the back, and against everything he had agreed with Lennon upon for him to have any purchasing power. Not sure why McCartney fans are blindsided by this outright failure to be an upfront, decent person. Lennon was still pissed off about it 2 years later. It was a breach of trust. He did the same thing nearly 20 years later to Harrison, Starr and Ono about royalties due The Beatles, which they had been battling for ten years in court to get from a record company that denied they had them.

@@DrTomoculus Did you not listen to the podcast? The buying of shares has nothing to do with any agreement gentleman or otherwise…these were “public shares” open to be bought by anyone who wanted them. If Mal Evan’s wanted to, he could have bought more shares than John. It’s equivalent if Paul decided to buy more property or furniture than John. Was Paul required to inform John of every purchase of anything he bought to ensure they both had equal amounts? Did Paul need to see that he bought the same amount of cars as John? Of course not. Same goes for public shares. This isn’t the same as if say Paul had made some separate/secretive arrangement with the record company in regards to say royalty amounts…something like that would be a violation of an agreement. Paul later did run into such problems with George and Ringo in the early 80’s but that’s a separate matter where Paul deserved criticism.

@@drummer78 He deserves criticism here too. A public company has shares that can be bought by anyone. Anyone with enough money could have bought out Ringo and George's shares in Northern Songs. This is a matter of principle and ethic. Both John and Paul are aware that ANYONE with enough money can buy out their 14/15% stakes in this company. Paul decides he's going to start buying up more shares than HIS SONGWRITING PARTNER, AND EQUAL PARTNER IN NORTHERN SONGS LTD. rather than go to Lennon and say, why don't we pool our resources together and start owning more of this company. He does it behind his BACK instead. It was a shit move. It was a betrayal of trust.

Finally, someone gets Paul's betrayal of John right....THIS is the reason for the end of the Beatles: it was Paul's fault and yet he paints himself as the "hero"...it's nauseating to hear people parrot Paul's nonsense endlessly...Great show guys...
