Back in 2016 Henry Cole travelled to Elvington to watch genius bike-builder Allen Millyard ride his V10 Viper motorbike in an attempt to reach 200mph. First seen in Series 6 of The Motorbike Show.

I was there about 12 years ago.....traveled from Boston to visit a friend who lives in Warrington. He had a CR-750 replica and a nitrous 250 cc 2 stroke LSR bike. Anyway....get the bikes through tech at which point it pissed down rain for hours and hours. Never turned a wheel. Nice to see a video with the sun shining there and some exotic machinery actually running down the airstrip. If I remember correctly Elvington was designated an emergency landing area for the space shuttle secondary to the length of runway. It was a very large airfield for sure.

Phew😅 Thank you Allen you’re amazing.
@montynohtyp1572 жыл бұрын
He isn’t the first. Dodge made a bike with the v10 and many others have as well. Just bc no one has done it on your side of the pond doesn’t mean it hasn’t been done here multiple times.
@willjones71322 жыл бұрын
@@montynohtyp157 That real Dodge made viper bike thing with the four tires is crazy, awesome full custom concept. Yeah, lot's of people truly believe if they didn't think of it and haven't seen it it couldn't possibly have been done before, doesn't matter what side of the pond your from, f you've been told everyone is equal and nobody can be better than one another at anything but athletics and stage entertainment your going to think that your ideas are the same as everyone else's and nobody can think of anything better. A viper engine in a bike is no stretch of imagination to anyone that knows the diversity of past motorcycle designs, the Millyard Viper bike is basically another version of the mass produced Boss Hoss, just using a v10 instead of a v8 of the same basic design just with 2 extra cylinders.

About 14 years ago I took a supercharged busa to Elvington. Most people who have owned a litre sports bike have done 180 mph but that last 20 mph? Jeez it was weird, because of the width of the runway you don't have the same concept of speed that you do on the road, (that might just be me?) Anyway, I did a couple of runs, 180ish to get the feel of it on the runway then on my 3rd I went for it 199.9. I was gutted one tenth of a mile an hour off 200! Then jarrod frost did a run, 224mph! It started raining then so I went home!

@flatcapcaferacer2 жыл бұрын
I'm of the opinion that 182 mph is a terrific speed for a bike with little or no aerodynamics. There isn't in place to hide and the radiator has to catch a lot of air. I was surprised when he said it would got 200 mph. I've been close to 200 mph on a bike with lessor horsepower but much better aerodynamics and it is hard. Hats off for the speed and the courage and skill to run it that fast.👍👍
