It amazes me how so many are disparaging the mom and daughter when MULTIPLE times it was said he would not let them help him and would not accept or allow their help. Even George spoke on it.

I really don't understand why those two don't get out there and start taking care of the bricks. This family should be working together on the dream.

There was many other things they could've helped with without getting in his way! They were lazy, especially the daughter.

Dont know why the wife and daughter cant pitch in and do a bit of unskilled labouring ,instead of whinging about having to live in the caravan.

Just looking at their plans, I estimate £250,000 for the build, if all goes well. Fingers-crossed. Right now they've budgeted £90,000.

If he'd taken the mortgage for 30k instead of 20, he could have hired some pro's and be DONE by now.

14 pounds a month for the Aga = less than 50 cents a day - a desperate wish of his wife but he said it was too much, putting the project back months, increasing costs, adding work and stress to himself for the build. "Penny wise, pound foolish...!"

11.000 for the kitchen ! Huh? Thats a ripp off. An Ikea kitchen for 1/3 look better !

Should have got a kitchen from howdens for £10 grand,really posh looking one,dont like the kitchen they bought

They left him alone! He’s an older gentleman doing dangerous work. The wife and daughter could both be working so he can stop working and focus on the build.

The work he did is amazing but the kitchen is HORRIBLE. The paid eleven grand for that??? And it doesn't suit the house at all. Pokey small corner for the stove and dreadful looking cupboards. How sad because the rest of house looks brilliant.

Crazy how so many of the men in these projects refuse help, get builders in or whatever and monomaniacally stubborn to the point where their body enforces a halt.🙄

He needs to get an upgrade on his wife (and daughter. How can she say "cos there is nothing to do"?...). Sorry but all i see is her swanning about, saying 'I' alot. Not good. I suspect he doesn't let them help him (not that they are offering) cos they get all sullen, grumpy, hissyfit, drama drama, whatever. Bless 'em.
