It's super fun to see what people imagined they must have, what they settled for, and what they moved on to. Also seeing the change in their appearance after 10 years makes me take the aging process a little less personally.

Good Lord, I actually remember the house in Wickham. 19 years ago.😱 Love this programme! It was a house, I said to myself, I could live there. Very satisfying to see it again. 💃🥂☘️🇮🇪

This particular episode was really nice. The two couples were really lovely and fun to watch and go through the processes with them. Very astute couples. Really enjoyed it. I know this episode is pretty outdated but I just saw it here, in Canada, in 2023 :)

I like how both couples were practical and knew that the houses they chose were to get them on the housing ladder, and that they were not their "forever homes." They were not afraid to make a move if the next right house came along. Thanks for the upload. More, please!

Glad they all ended up with what they wanted, but I don't like when people bargain and get their way and then change their minds. It's rude and very hard on the other party. Should have put some kind of non refundable deposit down, in case they back out of the agreed deal.

250k in 04 was a decent amount. Im a similar age, i bought a semi in Lancaster at similar time for 80k. Granted its up NORTH, but in a good area. That still shows that they had more than a decent budget. If you factor in inflation thats around 450k in 2023.

You all are workaholics! Love watching your progress. One question: why are the ceiling beams over the kitchen fireplace arranged in two different patterns? So incongruous and I know you all are sensitive to the historic use of symmetry. What gives? Otherwise, your work is terrific! Crack On👍

big, bigger, the biggest... there are people who never get satisfied... do they also think about getting older, perhaps with some healthy problems?...children walk out and start their own life?... or is it for investment... or what do they think?

I agree, they also don't seem to think about what would happen if things change for them financially, would they still be able to afford the mortgage?I think for a lot of people on this show, it's about keeping up appearances.

I think in England, a two storey house is far preferable to a bungalow, even as they age. There is something about bungalows that turn the Brits off, for some reason.

New “young”, today… not used to “harshness and reality of real life”, will, one day, learn a lot; too late…and pay a huge price for what, of real value, they missed…. the time moves-on fast; it’s only up to “solitary, each one of us” to care, or, to miss to care…

Both couples ended up buying something unlike what they said they wanted. The twosome with three children were particularly exasperating, turning down a house because one bedroom was too small. They grew up fast however once the children started coming. I wonder what they think of themselves at age 28 when they think back on that time. They other couple capitalised on the increased value of their first purchase to buy something closer to what they wanted from the beginning. Only one thing puzzles me: it's a rural property in the middle of a row? To me, a rural property is detached; when I think rural, I think farmstead. Farm houses don't have other farm houses attached on either side.
@pennycarter3433 Жыл бұрын
Could have been built for farm workers. A lot of country cottages went with the job on the farm. Many more rural jobs then leading to tied houses.

Kirstie's reaction to property seekers who want a parking spot seems a bit overblown. It's not unreasonable to want a private parking spot for your home. She acts like they've asked for Roman baths and a wine cellar.

They didn't ask for a spot... they asked for three including a garage, on a tight budget, with other criteria for the house. I'm with Kristie! In most tax brackets a toy car is an unreasonable luxury.
