I use the same but change Quality from Automatic to Restrict and set it to 80,000 Kb/s even if YT limits it to 45,000 Kb/s, I think. Great video, thanks a lot!

Thanks for the good explanation :) Why do I not have Multi-pass encode in the studio version? P.S. I'm a Windows-User.

There should be an option for ‘two pass’ which is the same thing. Sometimes they change the names of things for no reason 😅

For me it looks like the H.265 is my best option. Can it be set up as the default so it does not to be "fixed" each time?
@AlliandWill4 ай бұрын
You sure can! The 3 dots at the top right of the Render Settings section will allow you to ‘Save As New Preset’. Hope that helps!

Thank you for this!! Exactly what I needed! Do you have a different setting for socials (IG, tiktok etc)
@AlliandWill4 ай бұрын
For socials I still use h.265! The resolution would be based on the timeline that’s vertical obviously, but because the compression is so good with h.265, the quality can be kept at max but you’ll still have tiny files and then whichever app you’re uploading to will convert it to whenever they use internally.
@georgios.marinoudis3 ай бұрын
Great thanks, but what about encoding settings? Constand QP, Variable bitrate or Constant bitrate?
@AlliandWill3 ай бұрын
The preset I use as my base setting sets those up automatically for highest quality (which is what you want for KZbin). H.265 is extremely good at compression, so it honestly doesn’t matter if it’s variable or constant. Either way, the quality will look good and the file size will be small; which is why I only taught what was shown
@georgios.marinoudis3 ай бұрын
@@AlliandWill Thank you, will switch to H.265
@georgios.marinoudis3 ай бұрын
@@AlliandWill Well, I export to H.265 1080P and the image is horribly. Switch back to H.264 that look great. Maybe H.265 works better in 4K. Anyway
@AlliandWill3 ай бұрын
H.265 is superior in every way to h.264. It’s quite literally the modern upgraded version of h.264. It is highly likely that it is your computer causing the issue, and not h.265

i don't see prores on windows studio version?
@AlliandWill4 ай бұрын
So it looks like Fusion was able to export Pro Res at one point, but Resolve cannot on windows even in Studio 😭 apparently it’s a limitation Apple has, not Resolve. That being said, if you absolutely need it, you can use a third party plugin called Voukoder. I haven’t used it, but hear it works fine on Windows for allowing you to export ProRes. Sorry for the confusion!
@zuba7864 ай бұрын
@@AlliandWill ahh i see would you recommend or is h.265 good enough quality wise?
@AlliandWill4 ай бұрын
@@zuba786 h.265 will be IDENTICAL to ProRes in terms of quality. It can handle 422 10 bit, alpha channels, and the compression is incredibly good. That is what we film on with our Sony cameras and we also edit all our content with H.265 including the videos we upload to KZbin, but that being said, it does depend on the computer you're using. We have M series Macs so they are very fast. I'm on an M1 Ultra Mac Studio and h.265 works flawlessly without proxies; it's awesome to be able to work with native h.265 files directly from the camera. Hope that helps!
@zuba7864 ай бұрын
@@AlliandWill that extremely helpful to know. I'm sorry to be a pain I'm new to all this but my last question i have a msi laptop 32gb ram, NVidia 3070ti, i9-12900H and 360hz screen.. everything should run fine?
@AlliandWill4 ай бұрын
No problem! For you system, the ram isn’t too high, but the i9 is great and so is your GPU, so h.265 should work fine!
@MrGreenMountАй бұрын
ive just started using davinci resolve and I rendered a 4k video that was around 31 minutes long. The file was 44.5gb MP4. Is that normal?? or should it be much smaller. If so what am I doing wrong
@AlliandWillАй бұрын
Did you use h.265?
@MrGreenMountАй бұрын
@ yes I did, I did though reduce my bitrate down from Auto best to 48000 and it receded the file size down to 10gb. so that may have been the issue.
@AlliandWillАй бұрын
@@MrGreenMount Ya, bitrate is the biggest factor. Even 48mbps is quite high. I export at 40mbps for 4k, but you can probably get away with 35 at full quality with h.265 for long videos.
@MrGreenMountАй бұрын
@ alright ok, i did 48000 as I was told minimum go double you frame rate which in my case is 24. But i will try lower if you believe it would still look good.
@AlliandWillАй бұрын
@MrGreenMount double your frame rate is a good guideline for h.264, but h.265 is very good at compression!

@@AlliandWill I have the free version as well and it doesn't have that setting. Based on that do you have the correct settings to use for H2.65

My export page looks way different, is this on davinci 19 update? I don’t see multi pass encode and a lot of options are differently worded as well
@AlliandWill4 ай бұрын
They just released 19 full (non beta) so you might be seeing slightly different options. I was working on 18.6 I believe. Multi pass should be there, might have to scroll down or open a new section

@@AlliandWill It appears that "Multi Pass-Encode" has been removed in DR19 Studio. There is an option called, "Two Pass" with the options: Disable, Quarter, or Full. I'm wondering if this replaced the older Multi Pass-Encode option? Thanks for the video!

@stop619 yes I believe it replaces it. You can disable if you don’t want it, or use Full if you want the best quality and smallest file, but it will take longer to export.
