Great job, Allie. My son and I were down in Carlsbad visiting family, and we were sitting in the Starbucks by the start line, where you took that first left turn. I said to my son, "Hey, that's Allie O!" He said, "Who's Allie O!" I said, "Allie O is only one of the greatest collegiate middle distance runners of all time." He said, "Dad, only you would know that." Anyhoo, we watched you finish second. Well done. Galvan was definitely on a mission; I don't think Dibaba or Giday would have caught her. You did well and you should be proud. Your fans are proud.

When you said you were running Carlsbad I thought there was a race in Carlsbad, NM. 😆 I didn't even realize there was a Carlsbad, CA. I happened to see a video yesterday on KZbin for thr Carlsbad 5k and I thought, oh is this the one Allie is running? So I clicked on it and saw you jumping around at the line! The stream pretty much stayed on that strong lead runner from Mexico but at one point about 13 minutes in they mentioned you in 3rd and I was hoping you'd have a nice kick and secure 2nd. When the announcer said the final results, sure enough you'd pulled it out. Amazing job. 👏
