Looks like a blast, fighting those monsters! Carp seems to work good. I had a guy who claimed to be a guide on the lower Trinity tell me that the best bait is to take a pellet gun and shoot some Grakles or Starlings or black birds, whatever and then smash it up pretty good pull out some feathers and fish it floating on the surface or just under. He claimed that was the juice for gar. It sounds good anyway.

Howdy, Brother! Great excitement! Alligator Gar are fun to reel in and good eats, too (fried, of course). Burleson! 🤠. Drive-On, Cowboy!! Hope to meet y'all along the river someday!

Try using flat no roll weights...nice video ...also put your third rod short....10 feet off shore line...many fish cruise that zone a d it won't interfere with your other rods...just a tip or two from an old man...been fishing 65 years!😊

I gave you a thumbs up for looking like a Hollywood cowboy 🤠 funny show than looking like the original Native fisherman who fish our race Mother Native land waters for survival to feed the Family and the community of people who need food and like to eat fish because that's what living on this earth 🌎 is all about doing it for survival and not for Hollywood sports TV show B.S. So it's good to pass down to the next generation kid's of the world 🌎 the true meaning of fishing the waters of the world 🌎 to feed yourself and Family and community who like to eat fish for survival So keep the true meaning of fishing and life of survival alive because life is not a joke or a game but thumbs up for looking like a Cowboy 🤠 than a fisherman 😊😂!!! 👑Z 👑

I’m in Dallas Tx! I tried all year last year to catch a gar and had ZERO bites I went to several spots on the trinity and had zero luck all summer … where in DFW is this? . I’m basically new to fishing but I really want to catch an alligator gar ..
@Darmstrongfishing9 ай бұрын
Go to places where nobody go. If you see tracks don’t fish there. Go on Google maps and follow the river . You will most likely have to walk several miles or be dropped off. It’s not a specific spot to go to because gar don’t just sit in one area this time of year

Almost died in that same location. Flash flood filled that thing up in less than 3 min. Luckily i heard riding water and moved quickly. Had my dog with me. I threw my poles up and used a root to climb up because it was so muddy that i couldn't climb up. A week earlier a man died in that same place trying to save his dog but the dog survived and he didn't. so i left mine. When i finally made it top, my dog was waiting for me.

I know exactly what you mean man people don’t think it can happen that fast! . Almost did the same thing in another spot! That’s why I don’t fish it when it’s raining. Glad you made it out frfr be safe out there

@@Darmstrongfishing they don’t want any part of a human. As long as you don’t step on them, you’re pretty good. Generally, they will not strike unless they are stepped on.
