Man, you really know what you are doing, mad respect. I need to play the video at 0.75% speed to follow-up your explanation :D How long did it take you to learn SD to be able to create such advanced materials? Also would be awesome if you could share your opinion on how to learn SD in the most efficient way.

Thank you for your very nice and detailed tutorial. It was very well organised, but I wanted if it could have been optimised better, like using existing noises instead add new ones that are the same.

Hi! Good point! Currently I'm thinking about improving and make a series of tutorials, shorter and more intensive / optimized

@@MikeVoropaev I haven't used substance designer, but couldn't you do a directional blur to get rows/columns spacing adjusted instead of the complicated system you had? Directional blur would blur horizontal lines more than vertical lines therefore giving you the required result?
@MikeVoropaev
@MikeVoropaev 3 жыл бұрын
@@bucklogos Hi! Yeah you could make a Directional Blur and mix it with original map using central part of the scales as a mask. My structure is quite complex, yes. But it gives more control and more "natural" look with variable spacing from center to the sides. Is it worth it? Well, if you need faster graph computation, then, probably, not. This part is just adding a slight touch to whole look. Thanks for feedback! Appreciate it

Hi ! Thanks for this truly amazing tutorial i learned a looot so big thanks ! Just to be sure, the finals textures you are using with marmoset toolbag, are they 4k or more ? I am trying different things under Octane renderer and yet i don't have as many details as you have inbetween the scales for example. Thanks again ! Cheers
@MikeVoropaev
@MikeVoropaev 3 жыл бұрын
Hi! Thanks for your feedback! Yeah, I'm using 4K textures. Make sure you're using right normal map output. I believe you need to export DirectX normal for Octane. Or you could tweak sharpness or normal map intensity in SD before export as well, if this is the case :)

Damn it, you know, every video about SD is over a hour or more length, and each time it starts with presentation of the colossal nodes colony, killing all hope to understand how all of this works. Just bitching. The material is glorious anyway.
@MikeVoropaev
@MikeVoropaev 4 жыл бұрын
Hehe, I know that feeling! Yeah, SD took a lot of patience and it looks too complicated at first, but it worth it! Will consider making shorter videos in future. Thanks for your feedback :)
