Never use the foot clutch it’s not necessary except when shifting the pto into gear or when using the belt pulley for stationary work, it’s only a single dry plate and you’ll wear it out and wish you had never put your foot on it even once when you have to pull the motor to put a new one in. Learn to use the hand clutch and love it because it’s the actual main clutch and is a multi plate running in and oil bath and can be slipped all day and never wear out. Using the foot clutch to start out pulling a load like that is a sure fire way to lead you to hours of hard labor,skinned knuckles and a lot of cussing that all could have been prevented by not using it.

Especially when they are talking about something they actually know very little about. Hearing the words I think in a video like this makes me cringe and would have made my dad slap the narrator while screaming don’t think, know GD it, now go read the GD manual and don’t even think about touching it again until you know how everything works and the safe and proper way to operate it! My dad may have been rough and stubborn and kind of an ass but when he taught us something the lesson took, we never got hurt by equipment, we never broke anything that could’ve been prevented and from hand tools to bulldozers and everything in between, you can damn sure bet we knew everything possible about each piece of equipment before we even thought about using it.

Just trying to cut stalks. Not sure how to add weight - there are no rails on top of the gangs like an IH disk to hold the weights in place.

I believe it was set to cut at the sharpest angle.

I wouldn't add much weight, those old disk journals wear out fast enough without help. Newer ones use sealed bearings and are considerably more durable.

put 500 pounds on that disk really helps

Traction Booster works by slightly raising the 3 Point mounted implemented such as a 3 or 4 bottom Plow. That reduces the Drag and transfers more weight to the rear wheels helping to reduce wheel spin. We had a WD45 Row Crop front end tractor with a gas engine and it pulled a 3 bottom Plow. Our WD45 Wide Front end had a Diesel engine and it pulled a 4 Bottom Plow. When plowing in the Spring it the ground was very wet that Traction Booster would be working it's Ass off. It only raised the Plow a couple of inches but it really helped. Riding the turning brake on the wheel with the least Traction helped a lot also. On our tractors the Traction Booster wasn't activated at all unless the Hydraulics were in the down position. It's only job is to raise the 2 lift arms slightly. Only works on Mounted Implements. 5:11
