You should see if you could pick up an Allis Chalmers mounted plow that works with the snap couplers mounted on your tractor they are easy to hook up and work great with the allis tractor. then you can lift the plow hydraulically with your tractor lift on the left of the throttle control. Good luck nice video. I have ployed lot of hours and miles with a WD45 mounted 3 bottom plow.
@spencer10963 жыл бұрын
I have a Allis Chalmers mounted plow but someone turn it into a 3pt plow and there wasn't much left of the snap coupler on the tractor so I made my tractor a 3pt but the only problem is the 3pt arms on my tractor are way to long so the back of the plow drops on the ground
@spencer10963 жыл бұрын
I have a video of me trying to use that plow if you want me to upload it I'm sure I could

I have a wd and I just picked up a 2 bottom plow. It is missing a couple of things, like one of the rims. I haven't been able to use it yet. But someday I hope that it does as well as yours

Sounds like you’ve got a problem with bearings and your bull gears, but it’s amazing seeing someone with one of these old things. I’ve got a WD45 with a D17 engine in it and love it to death. Defiantly less of a pain to drive than a 46’ A.
@spencer10963 жыл бұрын
I really like it it's got some problems with it I'm hoping one day I could split it fix some seals in the engine maybe overhaul it and fix some other things I love driving it around and using it

The WD had straight cut gears while the WD45 had helical cut gears. WD's all sound like that.

This reminds me of my teenage years. I spent many hours on WD's and WD45's. At one time my Dad had six of them on our farm. We don't have a single one on the farm now. My Dad went all Deutz.

You have a nice tractor, my advice to you is NOT to run ethanol in it, that fuel is very abrasive upon atomization and it does damage to the intake valves, I love to see young guys like yourself preserve these old machines, God bless you and your family

Thank you very much I try to run non ethanol gas as much as I can

What happen to it? Did you sell it
@jeffgardenier6093 жыл бұрын
Yes like a darn fool I sold it. I used it to help manage my farm. My wife read an article about a guy on a tricycle front tractor mowing hay that got bounced off. She was scared for my safety. So we sold it.and bought a new Farmtrac 60. That was 18 years ago. The farmtrac has been a really good tractor. But i still miss my wd.
@jeffgardenier6093 жыл бұрын
ed. Will say that was the best when running a square baler. You can use the hand clutch to slow or stop forward movement and still keep the pto going strong. Modern tractors have live pto but I always really liked that feature with Alice Chalmers tractors. And yes I do believe that if it's not orange then it's a lemon.
@spencer10963 жыл бұрын
@@jeffgardenier609 oh yes I know all about the wd I saw J & L's video about the old advertisements for Allis Chalmers they were ahead of their time most tractors in the 40s and 50s didn't have live pto hydraulics

You need a larger gauge wire from the battery to the starter, at least a 2 gauge, I use 0gauge. Also the ground cable needs to be larger too.
@spencer10962 жыл бұрын
It should be fine I don't have any of that wire in the shop
@melvinchamberlin8232 жыл бұрын
And with that two bottom plow you got there you want the front plow not too too deep but you want that ass Impala deeper because that's where your front tire stays in the rut and where you got it that's why you're coming out of the rut and can't go that fast but you sink the bottom plow a little bit deeper you make it you make it better groove in the after you plowing where your front tire and your back tire goes down in it and if you ain't got weights on that tractor that axle back axles you need a wheel weights you get better traction you can get it in third gear and you know all butt with it then okay bye-bye
@spencer10962 жыл бұрын
If I remember right I had the plow as deep as it would or almost as deep as it would go Should have moved the draw bar over so I could have got the whole plow in the groove

It looks like you got pre-war to a war to IH two bottom flower my dad and my uncle's used to use that on their house chalmer and my dad always start out 3rd gear and why you do is you don't stop with them plows like that you have me lined up and then through your fully wide open and that where you got that string at way down there you want one in the back of your seat at home and you jerk it and my uncle use out plow my uncle's next door he had a farm and he's on the next field or and when we was in third gear going up the hill and over diesel could not stay up with my dad and time we got all the way up there and coming back down he's going up the hill but you have to be going pretty fast and jerk it the rope and dropped the plows but that's the best place there it is on a hill and my dad my uncle was didn't like it and they used the two bottom IH world war II cuz I had an Allis trimmer and plowed our Fields with it thank you
