Cooking for your family and with your kids is so rewarding❤. My little boy loves to help bake cookies and prep dinner with me and it’s so precious. Definitely something to look forward to! It is a lot of energy-I’m pregnant with my third and have days where it can feel tiring, but then to see the look on everyone’s faces enjoying something healthy and whole makes it all worth it❤.

Good day, Allison! I really enjoyed today’s video because I love experimenting and trying new recipes. I wanted to share a couple of things with you. Whenever I need butternut squash, it has to be puréed for the recipe, I washed the butternut squash and pierce it with six slashes about an engine size all around the squash. I then place it on a sheet pan in the a 400° oven and bake it for about an hour, depending on the size of the squash. Once it’s done, I cut it open and I use the scoop that comes with a pumpkin carving kit to get all the seeds and membranes out. Then I just use a spoon to scoop out the soft flesh and put it in the recipe that I’m going to use it for. I love Honeycrisp apples are my favorite. One Thanksgiving I was playing around with the idea of combining Honeycrisp apples and cranberries. I added some sugar, Saigon cinnamon, A dash or two of salt, and water and brought it to a soft boil until everything was melted. I then placed a 12 ounce bag of cranberries and one to two Honeycrisp apples that I peeled and diced and cook them according to package directions for the cranberries. It is my absolute favorite cranberry sauce recipe now. Also if you wanted to change it up a bit you could also add a scoop of orange marmalade and about a teaspoon of orange zest or you could add lemon zest. I just love experimenting with flavors in the kitchen. Also, thank you for all of the videos that you create in the idea you share. I learn new things all the time and they’re so relaxing and it’s just so nice to have that moment of peace in my day when I’m watching your videos. Take care, Allison. ❤
