Allods Online is a classic tab targeting free to play fantasy MMORPG from Russia that released back in 2010, for the most part the game has fairly standard MMO mechanics with questing, dungeons, raids, battlegrounds, mount and pet collection as well as well as transmog…
Something unique the game did have though was airship PVP in which players would work together operating multiple components of an airship to take down an enemy ship.
In this video we’re gonna jump into Allods Online, do some questing, play for a few hours and eventually make our way to the capital city to see if this game still has an active playerbase.
What do you think about Allods Online? was this a classic MMORPG that you had the chance to play? are you surprised this MMO is still active in 2022? what do you think of Allods Gamesplay? let me know in the comments below!

Allods Online Steam Description
Allods Online is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game, set in the fantasy space opera universe of Sarnaut. It is the fourth opus of the Rage of Mages series which started in the mid-90s, conquering the minds of millions of gamers around the world.
Gameplay
Delve into the depths of epic mysteries across space and time, exploring the relationship between two factions at war within a unique setting. Develop your character to maximize their abilities, craft your own equipment, and enchant yourself via a rune based system to excel in both duels and Astral space-ship battles.
World history
A thousand years ago, the Great Cataclysm split the world of Sarnaut into innumerable islands - called allods - which spread throughout the Astral. Their inhabitants learned to live in this new world by traveling the Astral in special ships. Shortly after, a war errupted between old-time enemies - the League and the Empire - both vying for power over the new world, resulting in bloody battles on allods and large-scale fights in the Astral that never cease. The cataclysm allowed adventurers and cutthroats to thrive on the chaos of war and profit from undiscovered treasures of the Astral, yet nobody knows that the real catastrophe is still yet to come...

I remember when it first came out, playing the Gibberlings ranger was mind blowing to me. Instead of 1 character you have a team of 3 and each have a different animation for different skills(one uses crossbow, the other a bola, other sets traps etc.) whoever came up with that idea is brilliant.

This is the kinda stuff that's so facinating about MMOs. There are entire worlds you may have never heard of while others spent thousands of hours exploring it. And even when this one looks just like a WoW clone, it certainly has its unique features and lore. Starting these games as a new player always gives me a similar feeling as travelling to a faraway country I know nothing about.

I played this game when it first came out. This game actually had so much potential due to its aesthetic and build customization and classes. Then they added this on death debuff thing that you had to pay money to remove or else you pretty much couldn't play the game. They removed it but then the game went to shit because the playerbase realized what kind of mtxes this game would have. It's also a shame you didn't see Nezebgrad (capital city of the other region in the game). The league is the fantasy aesthetic place while the empire is the steampunk aesthetic place. Nezebgrad blew me away when I first went there.

I played a lot of MMORPG last 20 years but Allods Online had the BEST endgame, the best lore, storyline, immersive faction (empire). We even had PvP with those ships in "multiverse" (actually it called astral) that needed whole pt where everyone have a role in the ship. In old times you could have those ship and upgrade it the same hard way like end game gear. It was fun. I miss the game a lot :(

Poured so much time and money into the game, it used to be so good, the PVP was awesome, the classes are so fluid for tab targeting once you get your build right. So sad they killed it with P2W over the years. Edit: Also, the max level has been going up by 5 every expansion, currently it's 100 I believe. The level 400+ you see on people is kinda like their paragon level in diablo, and it's seperate from your actual character level.

On the subscription servers, is their still a cash shop? Not having P2W is great, but if 90% of unlockables are unlocked with my wallet, I'll pass. Also, are trade skills useful, fun and rewarding? I played this thing back in the day. The most unique feature were the ships to navigate in the Astral, where you need a Helmsman, a Navigator and 2 cannoners, (and teamspeak with Submarine command abilities helped like saying ALL AHEAD FLANK, or FULL STOP) and you could loot an island with your team and risk a pvp battle until you returned to port to share the 'phat loot'. It took 48 hours to build the ship, a heavy lump sum of gold, and a lot of items just to get the ship done. Not just you faced other ships, you had to battle lovecraftian monsters in the Astral. They had Cthulu all over them. I miss this game for that feature alone, sadly the publisher in my Country went broke. The game expanded a lot since I saw it too, and there was a... Bard... class? The endgame was near level 60 back then. Another nice feature, the mounts had their own HP bar, so you could traverse a dangerous zone and survive. The top ones could glide when jumping off cliffs. Yes, you have fall damage as well. Feeding the mounts would also make them faster and permanently stronger. Another unique feature, the teleports between cities were unlocked by battling astral demons. But the real kick was the in the wallet. You needed absurd amounts of gold and some sold crystals to get your sort of Zodiac Sign upgraded, to get overall better stronger attacks, more mana, more health, etc. I hope you tried this game further, at least to level 40.

I played (and suffered) through Allods Online for years as a free player, because I was in a great guild. This game had some serious potential to be one of the best MMORPGs at that time with some innovative game design choices, but got completely ruined by MTX and corporate greed. Edit: The subscription model doesn't work either, because the game's systems were built with "p2w" in mind. Without all the power increasing bullshit, the whole clockwork doesn't function properly e.g. damage calculation being totally weird.

Played the russian version recently. Max level is 100, then there is a system like in ESO, when you gain points to spend on passives instead of levels. Reaching cap took me ~250h, but i was playing casually, reading all quests and dialogs. Leveling gets much faster after lvl55 (2 quests and you gain a level). The game's story and lore are the two main reasons to play, they are really good.

The server with no p2w but with a sub feels so much better, played like three-four months ago and had so much fun and nostalgia! It had everything the game has to offer but you get it naturally by just playing which is insane since when I started playing back in 2011-2014sh it got to a point where you could spend so much money to get all the top stuff you could buy a decent car with those kind of money and people still did it xD The community is incredible and it was a hella of a journey and i am glad to see Peon getting attention which is well deserved to the game. I feel like if you are a gamer who wants to have some genuine fun and who wants to see what an mmo that was a real wow killer for RU region and got popular in some other places in that part of a world. With questing that is heavily based on RU folklore - you should give it a shot just to see what its like. On the other side of a coin - it really is an old mmo and after returning to it in 2022 I felt heartbroken by seeing that they decided not to update old textures/engine and some of the old bugs are still there and are not fixed. The world pvp is still very fun and it starts with level 23 on the questing (some people intentionally stop leveling to prolong the fun of this kind of pvp since it has a lot of fun mechanics and the location is perfectly designed for pvp it even has events to drag people to certain places) and since the game had a spike of popularity when people in Ru couldnt pay for a WoW sub it really felt like the game came back from the ashes and it was so cool to join on the hype. They even had to open a few p2p new servers the queues were like 4k people on EACH server (insane for this game) and alter the mob rates since people were everywhere. The raids are quite challenging and some of them require insane teamwork and gear to be completed. Overall 10/10 would recommend trying it out but as I said earlier the game needs a huge update on everything to have even a slight chance to compete with anything there is nowadays. And since it will never happen the people like me will feel an urge to come back from time to time to enjoy the nostalgia and then leave for new adventures and worlds. Thanks for reading to the end, hope you enjoyed my lil insight on the matter, GLHF :)

Quite interesting IP, I think I've heard of it, but I never saw anything about it, wich is strange because I scratched so much the bottom of the barrel for a mmo, played a lot of different mmos, so it's quite a surprise to see one that I don't recognize. It also reminded me of another Russian IP, Warspear(nothing like this, it's just because it's also Russian), played a lot, but it's so P2W, very predatory that I don't recommend it to anyone. ~Also it was quite funny seeing Peon surprised with people on 400 levels, I wonder what he would think about Tibia, where there players on level 2000+

Hi friend. I played Allods NA as Kahruvel (League) / Admonitor (Empire). I was a volunteer forum moderator for the official forum, working as a subordinate to PioPico (the real one, not the guy who stole his name); PioPico operated as the Community Manager for Allods when it was still being published by Gpotato. I mainly played with the guild Redemption on Empire, what we called an 'advanced casual' raiding guild. My fellow guild officer and guild leader, Vicelich, also served with me on the moderation team. This game was very important to me. In my spare time, I spent a lot of time in the Empire starting areas teaching newbies how to play, because I figured that the lifeblood of a community was the fresh life coming in at the gates. The amount of depth in this game's lore is absolutely breathtaking. I had a notebook with entries on every character, every plot point, side dialogues that said something interesting. I worked on the Allods NA wiki and played regularly. This game was my hobby, and for several years, it was practically my life. I still keep in touch with people I met in this game, even after we've all moved on. All that being said, this game has problems, but it used to be a lot, lot worse. The monetization of this game is not great. I played in the F2P area, and we forum moderators and community team employees collectively fought hard to convince the developers to change their monetization strategy in the western versions. The game would debuff your damage and defense significantly unless you purchased "incense," a buff that granted you the power you earned. Initially, there was no free way to access incense; once you ran through your initial grant, it was gone. One of the major changes we successfully appealed for was a daily incense quest, which was a run which took about 5-10 minutes depending on your efficiency. The developers eventually realized that Eastern Europeans tolerated certain exploitative monetization strategies that westerners simply wouldn't. If I remember correctly, the real monetization system was even worse. It granted a player six runes (three offense, three defense) which could be upgraded for 1% per level, up to 12 levels each at the time, for a total bonus of 36% additional damage and 36% additional mitigation. Cost per level was exponential. A F2P player could only reasonably get up to Level 7 runes through dedicated grinding; by the time I finished playing, I had never spent any money on runes and only had a full set of 7s. Even whales had trouble getting over Level 10. The guys who made it to Level 12 were absolutely bonkers and probably suffered from some level of gambling addiction; one such community member, who I will not name, spent five thousand dollars on loot boxes. He was a sweet soul, well beloved by the community, but I have to wonder if Allods hurt his personal life somehow. I have no idea how Allods is monetized today. I genuinely believe Allods was a relic of the old school thinking of F2P, where it was expected that the player was going to be forced to pay at some point. Games like Warframe came along and completely turned F2P on its head, demonstrating that it's possible to be lucrative and also fair to your players. I've often wondered what Allods would be like if it had released a few years later, but c'est la vie, such is life. This is the game we received. I hold out hope for a sequel, this time with a fairer business model. I would gladly step back into my old Xadaganian Scout boots and kill a dragon or two with y'all. Stay strong, folks. And remember, kids: kick your local gibberlings at least three times a day.

I played this game in its Europe pre release stage. I saw it before the terrible mcx, when it was a wow clone with its own heart. I ran one of the biggest and most influential guilds on our server and have fond memories of warring with another guild and taking members from them. The open world PvP is also another big thing I loved and remember very fondly. The first zone where you interacted with the opposing faction had this dungeon inside a huge pyramid in the middle of the island and while trying to group you would have the enemy faction run up and try to kill you or you would go and gather all of the players on the map and go over to the rivals base camp to kill them and all the enemy npcs. It was a great fucking game and I will always hold it in my heart. RIP Allods.

Also played it pre release on beta back when level cap was like 40 and at like level 25 you could run past the opposing faction guards and take their airship to their major city or whatever. Good times back before they added a shitload of elite guards to the faction docks. It used to be like 4 of them only.

The game still fun depending on the server you play imo, of course there are many factors that lead me to have this opinion... I've been playing this game since 2009 (NA open beta) and what always makes me come back to it when I try a new MMORPG is definitely the PVP which in my opinion used to be the best one compared to similar games, PVP nowadays is still good, but not like the golden days. When i say that you will have fun depending of the server you play is defenetly about the lack of population on the European servers and ofc it also depends how you enjoy playing the game... Sadly on the EU servers there's not enough peoples to make any kinda of competition... when i mean any kinda of competition, i really mean that... 3v3: completely dead, every season theres only 1 or 2 groups signing for real fights, most of the time peoples that get rewards are thoses who trade wins with their friends, so the "best" can be anyone, u just gotta have some time to spend... while on RU 3v3 is pretty active. 6v6: it's work's better than 3v3, since it's harder to boost rating like on 3v3... but still a bad content when there's no competiton on the server. Dominion: i think the last time where peoples had decents dominion fights on EU server, was like 2/3 years ago. Compass: to get top 4 on EU server you just need to do a lvl 25 (max compass lvl) and that should be probably enough to get rewards in the end of the season... while on the RU servers players have always to find things to do a better time than the other groups. Resuming... the lack of players/competition on EU server made me and some of my friends move to RU servers 3 years ago, so if you really want to do every content in the game, i would recomend trying out the RU p2p servers. In case you guys want try out the RU p2p server and meet english speakers in there, you can join our discord server: discord.gg/wQhJtrJPgU Server: Нить Судьбы, Empire

Good video LazyPeon. However, there's two distinct versions of this game, and basically 4 "sub" versions (from the two main ones), at least from what I can recall back when I played it in 2020 for a few months: 1 A) European-based Free-to-Play server, with heavy micro-transactions / cash shop factors and influences (lots of Pay to Win, by lots I mean it), that's the one you tried. Most non-Russian Allods Online players do play this particular Free-to-Play version as it is still a better alternative for many to play for free and 'deal with' the Pay to Win factor (and the F2P version is the one that dates back to 10+ years, because the Subscription server came in only many years later, it's relatively recent by comparison). 1 B) European-based Subscription server (named Smugler's Paradise if I recall correctly), with zero cash shop items and completely re-balanced without a cash shop; everything can be acquired in that version of the game by merely playing and doing the typical MMORPG farming. However, big down side of that version is the extremely low players base. *Note: I did mention European-based server above, because there's essentially no North American server anymore for Allods Online. There used to be one called Nezeb, but because of the dwindling players base over the years eventually the developers / publishers decided to try and alleviate the situation by "fusing" the North American players from the Nezeb server with the then-most-populated European server. Today, the server you tried the game with is the result of that years-old fusion. A lot of players today are living in Europe (but there's also a lot from other countries overall, all around the world). The North American players themselves are in a minority now. 2 A) Russian-based F2P version (with the same cash shop stuff, same game as the above example in 1 A), but in Russian, with a lot of Russian players obviously and all the user interface and text is in Russian by default; however, it is currently the most overall populated version of this game as it is still a pretty popular game in Russia to this day). Additionally, and importantly as well, that particular version of the game is actually the "main" one that the developers work on first. So that version is ahead of the European version in terms of updates, content and patches. Not only is it ahead of time, but we're talking about a good 3 to 4 months ahead, sometimes even more (but the European version is also regularly updated, just behind the Russian version). 2 B) Russian-based Subscription server (again, same as the above example from 1 B), but of course all in Russian). *Note 2: Important to mention for potential new players that the European-based F2P server has a _lot_ of scheduled events that all start and end based on the European Time Zones. That includes a lot of the End Game events and activities (not all of them, but a good number of important ones are based on their Time Zones). An example I can give for a North American player is the following (which was my own experience): Let's say you come back from work at around 4:30 pm (suppose for this example it's North American Eastern Time). So let's say you log-in at 4:45 pm, you have to 'add' approximately 6 hours to that count, as it is about 10:45 pm for the majority of the players. And, on top of that, most end-game events that did have a schedule are either finished already, or are in the process of being completed. So if you join an end-game-capable Guild, most players are done with end-game events which of course are important for overall character gear progression (Raids, and important PvP events are the main examples here). This is _in my opinion_ the main negative factor for North American / South American players or any other players out there with a lot of time gaps due to living in different Time Zones than the server's main one; this WILL impact anyone's gear progression to some extent sooner or later. So that's the important notes I wanted to bring about the status of the game today.

So, as a Russian I should say: since other famous MMOs like WoW, TESO and others are not possible to be paid for right now, the whole community of these games have run into Allods, and thus this game is experiencing the second-chance-unexpected-revival and is now receiving many updates and everything. Compared to FtP servers of several years ago, now it's even pleasant and affordable to play, and I personally actually enjoy it. Is it good? Depends on what you want to receive. If you want a convenient QoL-full systematic mmo: probably not. If you want an interesting plot: YES. For Russians, it's LOADED with easter eggs, jokes, memes, fairy-tales. It's actually DnD-based in some quests and locations (at one moment, you literally face Mind-Flayers, Astral Dreadnaughts and such). I have always had an impression someone decided to incorporate their own giant dnd campaign into a form of a game

I played this game when it was in closed beta. The closed Beta version of the game was so much better. The leveling and pacing was great, the talent trees were better too. When open beta came out, they made the exp required to level exponentially larger. You had to purchase incense from the cash shop to level “normally”, not only that, for some reason the soundtrack of the game completely changed. It went from high fantasy motif, to a electric music which never made sense. The talent trees were revamped and I remember struggling to simply have access to basic skills like double shot (I was a ranger) which was a base skill in the closed beta The fatigue system was implemented badly. It was essentially the opposite of WoW’s rested exp system. You build up fatigue the more you play and you have to buy cash shop items to get rid of it quickly, and for free players, they just have to wait. A shame this game died the way it did. This game had the best character race designs. The Arisen, or Egyptian undead were really really cool looking. The best class archetypes I’ve seen in an MMO with different class skills depending on the races. Also, when they added mounts into the game, I thought it would have made the game better…except it didn’t. It was such a hassle to even use one since you have to constantly provide “feed” to it just to run at “normal” speed. If you didn’t have feed, your mount would actually run slower and was more susceptible to debuffs lol. It was a joke…

The right version of Xadaganians would be a "Hadaganians". Translators went really weird on this word. Maybe, because in russian there is a letter "X" that reads phonetically as english letter "H", so word Хадаганцы was translated as Xadaganians. Edit: Also, i played this game almost from the open beta (i'm from Russia) and i want to say that this game is always gonna be somewhere in my heart (currently practicing in 3D on monsters from game) ). Back then at the start when lvl cap was 40 it was magnificent. Astral fights and dungeons, new addons with new stories and other content. *Sigh* I can't tell everything - there is just not enough words for this, but i have an interesting story about situation that players from other countries didn't managed to experience. So, here we are at the begining of Allods online. You just reached Lvl cap of 40, and you want to do something... Hmmm... Well what about trying some PvP? Maybe it was going on mostly in astral fights? No. It was in 23-26 lvl location - Asee-teph. "WHAT??? How is this possible?" you would ask. Ooooh, that was interesting... Let me explain. So, this location had a few interesting features. First - it was first location in which players from both sides finally managed to meet each other in battle. Second - of course PvE quests about fighting with rival faction NPCs, and when you are fighting them you gonna get your "war status" up, which means that for 5 mins every enemy player can attack you. So if you want to get some exp - prepare to fight in PvP, or hide and play as guerilla, carefully looking around - is there another player, is it safe to kill these NPCs? Third - location was prepared for mass PvP - jungle environment with various environment, "Points of power" to capture granting some bonuses to controlling faction and... Fourth - Banner of War - an item that can be with random chance dropped by any defeated NPC, which after use, allowed to your faction players in small area to attack ANY rival player, no matter - they have their "war status" up, or they were just trying to pass by as neutral, doing their quests... Everyone must die! And finally - Fifth - the final dungeon of the game for both sides was IN THE SAME AREA!!! You just finished storyline. What to do... What to do... Hey, this location is about PvP isn't it? And there is some nice rewards for it... And we can mock some noobs here... What about... GUYS, WHY THERE IS 40 ENEMY PLAYERS RUNNING AT US?! And all of that managed to create situation, which can be called as truly "mass and free PvP" - everyone against everyone, noobs desperately trying to do their quests without being notised, small gang of players captured point and also killed few enemy players - "GUYS THIS DAMN IMPERIALS CAPTURED THE SNAKE HILL EVERYONE GET OVER HERE" - bigger gang comes and slays everyone, and then bigger gang comes, and then bigger... somebody raised Banner of War - here comes the snowball of players to the enemy main camp! It was really interesting as low lvl to play hide and seek in these jungles - if you are noticed with "war status" on - prepare to die, because almost nobody was going alone. Enjoying standing on the hill watching over mass battle between high lvl players, you even can try to joing - maybe you will manage to knockbak for a second somebody before you will be vaporised) That was... strange and not very kind experience, but it was fun) Sadly, new addons made high lvl players to leave location but they were still visiting the area. And after that devs created final nail for the coffin of mass PvP there - they added location effect which was instantly killing high lvl that just killed a noob. P.S. Well, you know, i even by myself shocked by this amount of text. But it was worth it)

It reminds me more of the way you jump on wow. Here's the small explanation to "fix it": - Settings -> Interface -> Camera Settings -> (by default this might be disabled) So the fix would be checking this setting Once you're back in the game, you'll note jumping feels more natural as the camera follows your character accordingly 🙂 I hope I helped someone!

I played this Game in 2011 Man lost my Old account and it was Super Paid to win Back than of the Rune System Max Runes where +11-15 and I had Runes at 7-8s and few 9s which was fairly Dolphin ish for PVP and It brought back a lot of Memories. Thanks for this Video Peon

Bro, the maximum level is now 105, the purple level is your bonus level, which does not affect your progress in any way, just gives you all sorts of bonuses.

Got so much memories from this game seeing you play. it was the f2p wow of his time, the class looked so cool and the steampunk part was a really cool one (having a ship you could manage with your guild to fight in flying ship battles was so cool. Sadly it was the most p2w game i've ever seen in my life, by FAR. Maximize the runes would cost thousands of dollars (the give %damage/healing/life)

I remember playing this for abit, there was alot to it the gibberlings were such an interesting race to play. I'm surprised the leveling experience is just as dragged out as I remember cause it does slow up alot.
