Totally agree with you about the NSW National Parks and Wildlife service. It's very disappointing to be locked out great areas.

A lot of NSW NP tracks are only available to access by foot or Mountain bike. Or better still, E MTB. Very frustrating being locked out of beautiful area's previously visited only a few years ago. I blame it on Lawyers!!

Nice vid, as always. I hope you were able to give some feedback to the National Park about their signage and gates. Also, the wood-fired bakery and rail museum were highlights for me :)

Once locked it’s rare they get opened again , saves the parks from having to maintain the track.

yeah you're right Stefan, it was super frustrating and campgrounds you have to get a key which took an extra 2-3 hours just to get to the local office to get a key.
@volcanic51873 жыл бұрын
Just to confirm that you are saying a key can be obtained to access Jordans Fire Trail to get to the Guy Fawkes River & some Camping spots ??
@ItchyFeetOz3 жыл бұрын
@@volcanic5187 no not for this campground specifically. Stating in general this area many of the campgrounds, they are typically locked and you need to travel to the regional parks office to pay and get a key, and the whole trip adds a few extra hours to your trip

Nice video Stephan. Growing up out the back of Coffs Harbour I've spent some time in Guy Fawkes and Chealundi before it was locked up and it is one of my favourite spots. The Guy Fawkes was all farmland along the river and is very pretty. The railway museum/collection and line between Dorrigo and Clenreagh has been in progress for over 40 years and never seems to get to the opening stage.

Thanks for the info! Would have liked to see the area before they closed everything up. I hold my hopes for the railway museum.

Another awesome video mate, i share your frustrations with nsw national parks, especially with the new rule that you must book too camp anywhere in there , it removes any spontaneous camp trips or just exploring and camping where you want too. That’s why the Victorian high country is so good i reckon. Somewhere along the line Nsw got it all wrong 🤷♂️. The bakery and trains looked awesome 😎 . Thanks for sharing

Totally agree! QLD started that mess and is one reason why I haven't been anywhere there beside Fraser, the pre-booking is just not how I travel.

When you're at home and deciding on a trip, how do you plan out and find tracks and trails from home so you're planned? I find both google and Hema to show a lot of roads that you're not allowed on. Makes trip planning very hard.

to be honest for most trips I don't plan from home, we have a rough idea of which area we like to explore and then just wing it

Hello I really enjoy watching your exceptional vids I imagine you put lots of hours into your Work This one is again fantastic even the music works well. I agree the NP are closing all the great tracks, no wonder that people are distroying the gates with battery grinders or just making tracks around the Gate , then you have the RAT BAGS who make a mess at the camp grounds i am sure you have also seen it broken glass tyre skids over the grass What can they DO ???
@AlloffroadAu3 жыл бұрын
like with everything else heavy fines for the minority who do the wrong thing, spend money on Cameras and not gates and not punishing everyone else. As we have seen these huge protected wilderness areas just burn down in fires like in 2020 as no one goes in there, NP can't maintain them and there are no indigenous people left who fire manage the land as they used to. The government is working for the people and a happy constituents are people who can enjoy our country in the off-time. Gated access does also seem to work quite well in Tassy.

Hi Stephan, another great video. You know, looking at all the bullshit restrictions that they have at some of these National parks, you'd be right in thinking that you were in Victoria.
@AlloffroadAu3 жыл бұрын
sadly yes, mind you Vic's NP are better managed than NSW in my opinion, way more access in VIC.

One of the huge frustrations when visiting Aus (which I'll never be allowed to do again if the Covid brigade have their way) is the long list of rules you are faced with when you go to any public place ("don't do this, don't do that, don't do the other"). It would simplify matters greatly if they put up a single sign saying "no enjoyment allowed".
@AlloffroadAu3 жыл бұрын
100% mate and it's getting worse every year, unfortunately, we have quite a few numb nuts who really screw it up for everyone else but instead of coming hard down on the few they rather close everything off.
@mark20733 жыл бұрын
"no enjoyment allowed" That's the whole point, take away our lives and make us dependent on the state for everything.

Great episode mate, feel your frustrations at the lock everything up attitude, its been happening down here in tassie for a few years, makes me question why I'm buying my parks passes...everythings getting gated down here, I think its easier for the authorities to just lock everything up now, than have it patrolled by rangers...cause there's no money for that when you have useless management spending thousands on indoor plants & new office furniture...

Any chance you could add a low bass filter for the content you shoot in the vehicle? These scenes contain a huge amount of sub bass which sends my subwoofer into overdrive, and I most often watch your videos late at night when my partner and kids are sleeping. Thanks!

you are the first one to mention will have a look but also plan to change in cab audio a little to reduce vehicle noise will see how that goes.

Great video as usual ,the bakery food look nice and wood fired oven was interesting but the shutting up of our [tax payers ] national parks is wrong too many greenies and bureaucrats in charge off our country not just theirs,it,s only going to get worse unfortunately , a place i when too all the time has been shut off by so called conservationists not good .

Very true, and funnily I regard myself as a greeny, I like the bush I look after it but I also want bloody access to it.

Your attitude to nature is cleared defined in this video: unless you can drive to all the points of interest then to you 'there's nothing to see here". Which is what I've come to expect from the 4WD community. To me however as a nature lover and avid bushwalker, Guy Fawkes and Chaelundi NPs are like paradise; wilderness, old-growth forests and streams where one can walk and not here the sound of 4WDs and motorbikes. The primary role of national parks are for nature conservation, something that is clearly lost on you and your ilk; I suggest that if you're not happy then stick to state forests and private off-road properties where motor vehicles take priority. But then again, why do you get into bushwalking, it might do you some good.
@AlloffroadAu Жыл бұрын
hm the assumptions you make and in a disrespectful way on top of it, I do a lot of Bushwalking mate and enjoy both, I also have plenty of Bushwalking friends. The areas available via 4wd are so tiny in comparison to what is available by foot. What good the closed off wilderness is in a wildfire we have seen in 2019/2020 with 5.3 million hectares burned. I have many friends in the RFS who are responsible for the Wollemi Wilderness and no access was a serious issue for most of them. You seem to be one of the extreme radical greenies without common sense.
