Great video Ian. It’s amazing how the plot recovers after the awful weather and insect/slug damage we’ve all had. I’m growing chillies for the first time this year and they’re doing ok I think. I’m just struggling to know when to harvest them as there’s so many conflicting points on them. I’m growing cayenne, padron, Trinidad perfume and California wonder. Have you got any of these growing? Deb

@@Tea_and_thyme_2012 Hi Deb. Yes, all of a sudden things recovered from the poor weather but the harvests are still less then normal. It’s most likely still too early for your Chillies to be ready, but the odd 1 or 2 probably have changed colour to be good. Trinidad is a nice variety when combined with others as it provides a cooler heat, if you know what I mean, but lacks the real depth of flavour. Cayenne, wait for them to go a uniform colour. They have a nice flavour even as green. Padron need to fatten up. I haven’t tried Californian wonder. If you want to try more Chillies then let me know and I’ll sort you some seed for next year, so long as my peppers ripen enough.

Great plot tour Ian, I planted some Dahlias from seeds and now planted out in the garden, not sure if I dig them out for winter or leave them in the ground?. I would love some of your chili peppers seeds if you get any please, many thanks. Sam

@@samuelbarvet2641 Hi Sam. Your Dahlias, did you grow them from a packet of seeds or from your own plants in the garden? If from a packet then see what the type is, perennial or annual bedding plants. If they grow from your own collected seed and those plants are perennial then I would try to lift them and give winter protection to them in the hope that they flower next year. I’ll bare you in mind for pepper seeds. Are you on instagram as if so we can better exchange postal details via message there. Thanks again 🌶️🌸
