Wow, you are such a natural beauty in the beginning of this vid without all the makeup. Have you thought about using brown eyeliner on the lower eye and brown mascara instead of the black? The black is a very strong contrast to your hair, eyebrow color etc. You really need very littly makeup. You have natural beauty in spades.

Have you ever tried Nepitella? It's an Italian herb that grows in the sidewalk (pavement) cracks in Tuscany. It's kind of an oregano/mint/it's own thing. It's used with mushrooms and artichokes and it's delightful. It's from the mint family so perennial. Bonus: it has the prettiest little pink flowers.

Excellent video as always. I keep checking every few hours onTuesdays to see if it has been uploaded lol. I grow rather alot of mint on my plot, pineapple, chocolate, spearmint, peppermint etc. I really do like the different flavours from them. Lemon thyme is also a must for me too. Its blowing an absolute gale here. Trees are falling in places. Hopefully the weather will sort itself out soon. Look forward to seeing you in your next vlog and all of your progress on plot 37

We just found your ‘what to sow in April’ video yesterday thanks to a KZbin suggestion, and then played through the blog playlist; switched off at the end of Vlog 18 for bedtime, so a straight 10 hours’ viewing on Easter Monday 🤣 Back at it today for another few episodes while we plan what to put in our garden this summer (2021). Loving the channel; you are a fab presenter. Glad you kept it going. Kath & Mo in Crieff.

I want some of that thick wire hooping so bad! But a 4x6 foot piece of it with 1 inch squares, and the wire is muuuuuuch thinner, is over $100 USD each (about 80 British pounds)! I have no intention of learning what the shipping is. My garden envy of your allotment is very strong lol

Such a week of weather contrasts! A couple of our tall tomatoes fell over as the supporting canes snapped but fortunately I have been able to stand them up with a new cane and the tomato plants themselves are fine. So apart from a fairly large number of green tomatoes on the floor we survived ok and now just have an excuse for making some red and green tomato chutney. Keep vlogging - great to watch.

Lovely video, Jessie. I haven't used green manure before so am really keen to find out how it works for your plot. Herbs!!! I adore them and grow loads - have got more on the way for next year. Lovage is a strong growing perennial but may be too tall to put right next to the path, great for flavouring soups n stews etc. Mints are good but some spread more than others in the ground. Thia mint is gentle, apple mint is rampant. Whichever you choose, I would box them in to avoid spreading too easily. Finely chop and dry mints for teas. Chives are another good perennial. I adore Rosemary for cooking 😋
@JessieatPlot374 жыл бұрын

It’s blowing a gale here in Norfolk right now still, I did have some tomato casualties a couple of days ago, but they are all well tied and straight cordons now and I’ve had to tie up the stems carrying heavy trusses. My 11ft sunflower which is a volunteer and mutiheaded is a real survivor. It has a really thick trunk! Herbs to grow? I think my only really used and less common perennial one would be Welsh onion. They are just a larger version of a chive, but large white allium flowers. The bees adore them. They can have a Chelsea cut and regrow and produce again with lovely wide hollow leaves. The leaves chopped up are between a chive and similar to a spring onion but bigger. Looks lovely cut up over a potato salad. C ongratulations on your 20th video, I have loved them all thank you 😊 x

Hi Jess, brilliant video once again and congrats on reaching 20 🎉 I'm interested to know if you used a homemade potting mix for sowing your spring onions in this vlog or was it a shop bought mix? Oh, really? Was it easy to grow? I was given some 'vietnamese Corriander' in a pot years ago and it tasted of nothing so i wasn't very impressed but only recently actually tried some in a shop and realised what ever it was i had been growing... wasn't vietnamese corriander! Lol! So i will definitely give another go! :D Did you grow yours from seed?
@hannahhurley72154 жыл бұрын
Jessie at Plot 37 oh no!!! I got ours as a little plant from @urban_herbs_ on Instagram. It’s growing so well! It is very coriander tasting and quite spicy when you chew it. It’s getting massive. A good alternative to normal coriander as it’s a perennial and doesn’t go to seed. Really recommend Urban Herbs so maybe give them a go 😃

Not sure what herbs I’d recommend, I was really interested in seeing how strawberry mint and chocolate mint compared to normal, but the chocolate mint I got from eBay I’m not convinced was actually chocolate so I’m still on the lookout. Have you tried them before?

I've grown tomatillos for several years now. I ripped mine out and composted them several weeks ago after a few pounds harvest. It has been a rubbish summer, and so a rubbish year for tomatillos. Anyway, my point is, you've got no chance of fruit from the state of the plants I saw in your video and if you need to further process that bed, you should, you're not missing fruit.
