It IS an eight string tuning 😉 it is absolutely the playing and production tho, you're right. You can make standard sound massive even though it isn't quite the same. When the kick and snare and bass compliment the guitars perfectly, it's magic.

why don't they show their eq settings? i've been trying to get the tone but without the equalizer its impossible. Is there anyywhere they shared it?

Been looking EVERYWHERE online for the presets of this setup ALLT uses, if anyone from the band or anyone else in here knows how to find these presets, I'd like to use them. I'd buy the plug in if it were included in the trial but it wasn't. I went with the gojira, but will nah this if I can find the presets.

Honestly, the plugin is worth. You can tweak the default setting with little effort and get really close to this. Gojira and Petrucci sound mind blowing out of the box. I'd even be willing to share with you some of my favorite IR's which you can tweak to your liking.

I have the petrucci but it sounds nowhere near as good as there tone. Idk if it’s just my guitar or they have a lot of post processing. But if anyone has tips on how to make it sound more like the vid with post processing/mixing that’d be helpful

There could be a lot of different factors. Pick ups, new strings, pick type, di signal, pres, post processing. You'll also find that a tone that is mixed with the rest of the song may not sound like something that you'd dial in when you are just jamming.

A lot of people have said that about my guitar sound and I've always used amp sims. Honestly, you can tweak to a point where in a blind test it'd be impossible to spot a plugin or a real amp.

@@omramoryth agree, some people can’t accept the fact that amp sims are 0000.1% away from being identical to actual amp sounds. They want to recoup the fact they prolly dropped bands on a amp head only to get nae nae’d by a amp sim that can do realistic amp sounds but it cost a fender squire

Actually Buster Odeholm do mix of it so he can make even amp sim sound that but yes , amp sim doesn't sounds like this.
