@jani14jani2 жыл бұрын
Have you tried their Gojira plugin? It's very good. I guess if you want a more refined and cleaner tone the Nolly one is better but if you want a dirtier tone you can't beat their Gojira plugin.
@fateunleashed96802 жыл бұрын
@@jani14jani I have and don't get me wrong it's got some good additions like phaser, pitch shifter, and octave. I also loved the acoustic amp and the new delay types/mode feature from the Tim Henson too! Hell even the Cory Wong is cool with the reverb with a shimmer added on. That's why the petrucci is the perfect all in one plugin as it has most of the features I like across the multiple plugins. With the transpose and room sound options to me it makes it beyond a crazy bang for your bucks.

Same. I've tried everything aside from Henson and JP, and while they were all great sims they didn't offer anything too special compared to Nolly. I'd jump on a NDSP Archon, Bogner, or Revv in a heartbeat, but everything since Nolly sounds like a 5150 or Mesa clone when it comes to high gain. Between Nameless, Omega and Nolly, none of their high gain amps sell for me.

Since i am not a guitarist,i can't really understand how this plugin is to be used. Does it help you record anything,or is it just for practice purposes? And,will Petrucci use it himself on stage or during recordings,or is it just for players who want to have JP's sounds at hand? Thanks!
@p4fizzle2 жыл бұрын
You can record your playing, but using another piece of software (of your choice). JP would be very unlikely (or any artist) to use this type of software in place of hardware for a live show. The reasons for that are a long a lengthy chat about guitar tones and purists need for original hardware

It’s amp simulation software. It allows you (with an interface) to plug your guitar straight into your computer and easily get a huge assortment of really quite believable and useful guitar sounds. You can use it to record when run through a DAW. Big established artists would probably be less likely to actually use it for recording an album, although some might in some instances, and several do use higher-end amp sims (ie. axe fx) for their main guitar recordings. A lot of amateur or less-established artists will definitely use this to make all manner of amazing things I’m sure.

@Crowhmmmm10 ай бұрын
You use a guitar interface and though you could run through your amp most would run through speakers
@bretttrommler75610 ай бұрын
@@Crowhmmmm well, I got that working using Neural DSP plugins in Reaper DAW. Something weird though. After about two minutes, I would start getting this puttering noise that would gradually get worse until that’s all you could hear. I restart the app, two minutes later I get the same thing. This is through my Sound blaster Xz which has worked flawless for years and works fine for everything else. So I change my audio output to go to my high end gaming headphones and change Neural DSP/Reaper to the same thing. Works fine, no problem. At that point I noticed some weird harmonic noise coming through the audio whenever I use any kind of high gain setup. Not sure what that’s about.
