I hear you! I've got a Dark Horse being built so am selling my 2021 Supercharged GT Premium with 24k km on it. The stealership offered 40k CAD and even then it was a lot of tire kicking and the DH deal on the line before they would come up to that number. I may just pay out the note on the car myself and sell it privately as people are biting at 55k CAD for everyhing done to the car. It has 100k into it (car, taxes, aftermarket parts and labour) so this is a HUGE loss. Modders be warned!
@woohunter12 ай бұрын
Yeah, if you have that much into it, a dealer trade will screw you over big time, sorta happened to me on another car I had heavily modded.

You are going to love the Dark Horse. I just got 500 miles on mine in one weekend and it is an incredible car. No matter how much people complain about the price, I sold fords for a long time and drove basically all mustangs you can and the Dark Horse is hands down my favorite. I will say the Trofeo RS on the handling pack won't last more than 2k miles, but that's okay XD

@Michael-CS When an owner modifies a vehicle, many including myself are extra worried. You can easily spend $20k on mods. This absolutely decreases the value because for all we know, Joe schmo shadetree mechanic installed it and did a horrible job. It also screams the vehicle has likely been abused and or ragged out. Modding is at owners expense, not the buyers.

@@car-diologist I hear ya! What you say is very true; especially for younger buyers and sellers. Fortunately I'm in a spot where it's a garage real estate decision and not a financial one. I can laugh lowballers off and entertain those who know the car for what it is.

No rebates when bought new. And still in the midst of product shortages. And now they are churning them out as fast as possible now, high interest rates, the auto market is balancing itself out. And used prices are falling quicker than usual, due to lack of buyers willing to take a chance and making high dollar purchases.

Why not try to sell to individual, as you would get more? Just too much hassle? I do trade in to avoid that hassle, but with a trade I get a tax break which helps covers a lot of the gap. @AllTerrainNation No offense, but 3600 miles on a vehicle is far from enough use to consider it a good car. My next ride will definitely not be any so-called American Manufacturer. Ford ended any hope I had left in me. No telling what I will buy next. It will likely be a Toyota/ Lexus or Honda / Acura product. It definitely won't be a Supra, that's not a Toyota.

You don't purchase a new vehicle if you're planning on selling it after the first year or less. That's where the depreciation is the highest.. After year two The depreciation starts slowing. If you were trading it. I'm guessing the trade in amount would be higher. I'm curious why you don't lease your vehicles. I tested the market just to obtain a sales value. I found CarMax was the lowest likely because just over a year ago. They were paying too much for used cars that almost sent them into bankruptcy. That's a beautiful mustang that will likely turn over fast.
