"Volunteered to DM and give me a break" - The single best thing to hear. If no one else answers the call to DM eventually DMs can burn out and if people don't step up games can disappear. This is real dnd. Really dnd is a thing where you can merge your soul with your character, feel what they feel, and they feel what you feel. Few people have ever gotten this extreme privilage. It may not begin my fate, but I'm glad someone got to experience it all least once.

This is absolutely beautiful. I am so happy to hear Anon is doing so much better now. DnD may "just" be a game, but it helps you to get out of your current life. Sure, you "just" role dice. But as a player, you feel powerful and enpowered when you manage to do something epic. And as a DM, it is just rewarding to see my players react to my homebrew story, and what they make of it. How they take to the characters and world I set up for them. It makes me feel valuable and cherished and that does wonders for my insecurities.

I was worried about what kind of tears the op was brought to. I've felt and read about far too many games that had ended in the bad kind of tears and this was a vary good breath of fresh air for me to listen to.

I really enjoyed this. Especially the connection to the real life and in game correlation of his story. "Slay those demons and take your soul back", And a fantastic ending to a campaign!!!! Love the idea of going to speak to ancestors to adopt them as a patron.
@Wrathgir Жыл бұрын
That was amazing! And yes this statement is so true. “No matter what this world is doing to you, fight back. Don’t let the demons destroy you. With whatever you can and however you can, don’t give up. Slay those demons and take your soul back.” Today been feeling down about a lot of things and this statement right there hits me the most. I really needed to hear this cause of feeling unsure about where my freelance art career will take me and thinking I probably won’t get anywhere with it. Been struggling hard on it this year especially since AI art is becoming massively popular, making me feel no one cares to get commissions from me anymore cause of it. I just need to keep trying and maybe someone out there will want to commission me for something. Also yes. D&D is quite the therapy for me as well in some aspects. So totally agree there.

Interesting about the "split soul" concept. I'm running a half-elf bard at this time, and she can't reconcile her elven and human sides, so she has developed a split personality. One is a good chaotic "elf" and the other is a good lawful "human". I even have simple magical items that alter her appearance, so she looks one way as the "elf" and another as the "human".

Some mechanical questions: How does a 20th level warlock have a 1st level spell slot? They scale automatically. How did he cast Misty Step, a 2nd level spell, with that 1st level slot? Did he somehow deal 375 damage in one shot or just skip narrating how the party for the demon from 375 to nearly dead?

Ya know what? Random location to admit this, but I personally am not fully over my last character death. It was- unceremonious and honestly the longest-running character I’ve played, just over a year or so. Alex, my boy. May The Lady of Dreams forgive your actions in life. May she unchain your soul from the curse laid upon you. When the misty veil lifts, I hope your soul find its way into Arborea and into the hands of a place where your skills are no longer needed.
