Why does the question; “i get to work by bus every morning” is in the V2 form? “isn’t it a habit and routine? I thought of maybe it might be “GO” since base on the sentence a “WORK” so work is technically a “routine and fact” about you, pls enlighten me explain this to me! I must have gotten all the informations in my mind mixed up. 3:20

Hi Edgar, thanks for the question. "I get to work by bus" and "I go to work by bus" are both in the simple present tense and both are correct. However, there is a slight difference in meaning. "I go to work" means I travel to work - while "I get to work" also means "travel" to work, but with an emphasis on "arrival" at work. Hope this makes it more clear. :)

Good question, Reem! Yes, it would be possible to ask, "What are you?" in this situation, but it would be very strange (and impolite ... "I'm a human, of course!!! What are YOU!?") And also it would be incorrect to ask, "What are you do?" because with a 'be' verb ("are") we need to use a verb + ing ("What are you doing?" -> "I'm eating breakfast now."). So "What do you do?" is the standard way to ask about someone's job. :)

I get to work by bus every morning . How _____ get to work ? Why do we put do you and not are you ? Please, answer me

Hi Reem! We use "do" with simple present verbs (like "get") . . . and "are" for (1) present continuous verbs (like "getting"); (2) adjectives (like "expensive"); places (like "at home"). 1. I am watching TV. -> Are you watching TV? / Why are you watching TV? / etc. 2. The clothes are expensive. -> Are the clothes expensive? / Why are the clothes expensive? / etc. 3. They are at home. -> Are they at home? / When are they at home? / etc. :)
