This comes up all the goddamn time, every single knockout video. Every single one. As others said, the rules state that the fight is still going until the referee intervenes, but more importantly, I think you're seriously, *seriously* overestimating how much time passes between the downing and the follow-up strikes. You act as though the opponent is knocked down, and the fighter goes, leans over, checks, sees they're down, and thinks "ooh nice, he's knocked out! Time to get a few more licks in just for me!" I'm obviously being hyperbolic, but it's a split second decision. Stop being dramatic; there shouldn't be "a criminal charge", that's ludicrous. I'm speaking for 99% of instances. For instances like most of Mike Kyle's career, yeah, there should be legal repercussions. But for the average fight, no, it's all in the game.

BJJ is the most useless martial art and seeing them bend the rules to favor 'defensive grapplers' is disheartening as it is destroying the sport. In any fight, being on your back is a terrible spot to be in, in UFC its advantageous.
@haydenphipps4923 Жыл бұрын
@@kateanderson8384 There's no chance you've been in a fight once in your life if you think bjj is useless. In a real life scenario and in mma bjj can be utilized much easier and is way more effective than strikes. Don't believe it? imagine you attempting to punch someone while they are focused on forcing you into a heel hook. Doesn't make sense because you're just going to cause a bruise or 2 while the bjj practitioner is going to quite literally rip your knee apart. Look up Guy uses bjj in basketball fight in case you're still not convinced. Also heel hooks aren't even the most effective bjj move. Blood chokes can not only knock someone out as easy as a punch can but it can also kill the person if held for long enough.

@@haydenphipps4923 Using bjj in a street fight is ludicrous. The vast majority in a street fight are NOT fighting 1 on 1 so the likelihood of you exposing your vital areas while putting someone in a heel lock only to get soccer kicked to the head just doesn't seem appealing to me. In a street fight it is much more advantageous for you or anyone to stay on your feet as much as possible.

The reason why people say the loss should be taken off the record is because prior to the elbows Jones had him on the ground and was constantly hitting him with no real response. Once he’s milked Conor for all he’s worth he’ll be cast aside for the next big thing in line. I do think that when a fighter in a winning position is disqualified, it shouln't be a win for the opponent. How is it justified in the first clip that a guy who was knocked out wins?

Hitting someone in the back of the head should only happen if you think you’re in real danger, even then it feels dirty because you see the effects it has, gotta be ready to see them lose all desire to fight and struggle to balance on their hands and knees
